St. Barths Freedom - Assouline Coffee Table Book

GOOD VIBES !!! I purchased this book despite some of the negative comments. I have other Assouline books in my collection and have not been disappointed. It is a high standard operation. They produce quality products. The pages are heavyweight, at least 60lb. paper and the prints are vibrant. The St. Barth's edition contains digital color, as well as 35MM black and white photos. I love black and white. The color photos, well bring color to life and life to color. I love tropical islands. I spent about 30 years traveling in the South Pacific islands and I live in New York city where you do not have the color option. Looking through the pages I get a sense of life being lived, not making a living, as you do with much of your time in New York. I have the Bali and Mykonos editions and will purchase the other editions, such as Jamaica Vibes, Zanzibar, Lake Como Idyll, Byron Bay. Do not be dissuaded from purchasing this volume.

A wonderful publication

Very large, hardcover book, chock full of photographs...many stock/reprints along with some more current photos. The introduction has some factual errors. (A photographer friend's name is misspelled in credits as well.) As a former editor, the lack of fact checking is astonishing, especially for such a high end publisher. A lovely book that should have been much better, seems put together too quickly.
