ERP 2212363 Refrigerator Ice Auger Gear Motor

DOES NOT REPLACE 2198594Mounting has moved from top to bottom.Shaft drive is a hex drive.If replacing 2198594 you need the motor with the adapter plate. See pictures.Other then not fitting everything else is the same. See pictures.

Motor works but you may need to buy one more thing - Four 32 X 2.5" #10 bolt/nut set (got at HD for $3). The old motor I replaced was 18 yrs old and the mounting bracket was attached to the top. The holes are at the bottom of this one, so I had to buy bolts long enough to reach. Easy fix. Easy to install. Happy with results.

The product arrived two day ahead of projected delivery date. Great. In order to replace 2198594 with WP2212363, I would suggest going to LOWE'S or Home Depot and buying 4 stainless pan head 12 X 2 screws. Package of four was just over $2. I would also slightly enlarge the holes on the motor so you aren't creating unneeded threads. Also by doing this you eliminate having to remove the motor bracket if you need to replace auger motor in the future.

After a recent power outage due to a major storm, our ice maker quit working. We have had the ice maker repaired for other reasons a couple of times, and it was costly! My husband decided to replace the auger himself. He went online and searched for a “how-to” video, then got the exact part number and we ordered this via Amazon. He had to go to Home Depot to buy the right size screws to install it, but other than that, it was a breeze for him to install! Works great!

Plug and mount was a perfect fit, but rod had to be shimmed to fit. Easy enough with a piece of brass, heat, and a hammer. I have crushed ice again.

This item, part number 2212363 is NOT a replacement for 2198594 on account of mounting holes do not line up or work!!

Needs modifications but works

There had to be some revisions made for it to fit, but it works nicely once got it installed!
