Rayo Redi-Light Kerosene Lantern Hurricane Outdoor Lamp 14 inch Galvanized

I have and use many lanterns daily and this one is the worst. I can see getting a bad apple but there are just too many things wrong with this lantern to make it usable.1. Burner/Cone : the wick knob sometimes does not turn the wick. keep spinning it and it will eventually work. The burner/cone makes the flame have horns even though the wick is cut straight (see photo). This makes soot on the glass but worse a burn mark through the chimney just above glass. The burner arrived with the screen at top around burner pushed down/crooked and the below screen knocked out. I tried a WT Kirkman burner/cone and it worked fine.2. The fuel cap gasket keeps popping out making it difficult to reinstall the fuel cap.3. The bail handle is made of wire and pops out especially when using the thumb in crown hook and fingers on bail to lift chimney. None of my other lanterns do this (i tried to replicate) and they probably use spring steel.4. The vent below the crown is crimped and dented making the crown crooked, wiggle and make noise while lantern is burning.5. other cosmetic issues include: A) crown thumb hook is crooked in crimp piece attaching it to the crown. B) The very thin glass has a white craze throughout that will not clean off making it not clear at all. C) Good sized holes where the bottom of air tubes meet the tank at the top crimps. D) There are sporatic machine made straight lines scratched around the tank.6. A significant issue is the chimney will not lift high enough to allow the globe to tilt in or out.Just be prepared to buy a new globe and burner/cone if you purchase this lantern. Happy Lanterning!
