I had an issue with the item and gave a low review to the seller because I was disappointed when the item wasn’t exactly what I expected. I should have contacted the seller with my issue. Fortunately, the seller voluntarily reached out and refunded part of the cost to make up for the issue. I believe they truly didn’t realize we couldn’t use the access code when they listed it as included with the text. So while the item wasn’t completely what I needed, the seller did impress me and is one I would order from in the future.

The writing and content of this book is impeccable! It’s a pedagogical masterpiece. Too bad it’s published on toilet paper in an awkward, poor quality and overly large spiral binding. Norton’s online customer service is lacking at best and wow, what a profit margin they must be enjoying if the quality of the printing is any indication. I rebound my “antique bible thin” pages in two more reasonable size, better quality, spirals. I wish this author were working with a publisher who would consider the practical use of the book or just not print it at all and put more effort into their online service.

Great music learning book

I received my used copy in moderate condition. There was obviously writing on the inside and the spine / pages showed moderate wear. I don't really care though. It stays in my backpack for school.The content starts with protonotation which helps you understand how musical rhythm is "broken up." It really helps provide the building blocks to reading music, which it should. I've been reading music for a long time, though, so it was a little painful to get through a good portion of the first ten chapters. But if it's required for school, it's required for school.

A good resource, but the back of the book indicates that it should come with a code to access online audio materials, but just know that it doesn't even though the price is the same as if it did.
