My grandson needed this for his 3rd Grade Living Museum Day. I needed it is a 14-16 but it was out of stock so bought the 10-12 and slit open the sides. Added velcro tabs. Worked very well, as the beige sleeve part is very stretchy. Bought a grey undershirt . The helmet does not come with this costume.

Kid had to dress as Ponce de Leon. This was as close as we could get. Almost too perfect. If he’d been even 5lbs heavier it would’ve been too tight.Stitching was less than great but I never expect much from these costumes.He wore it all day and it didn’t fall apart so there’s that.

My son needed to dress up as an European explorer for a school project. This outfit fit the bill! Not sure how well it would hold up to multiple uses but it was perfect for a one-time use!

We needed a costume for a living museum at school. This fits the bill. The sleeves are thin but the grey portion is slightly padded/stiffer. The belt is the basic costume "pleather" material but the pouch already is attached. The belt does have an additional strap that hangs down. It add to the look but makes it impossible to add a sword holder. Boot covers are same material as grey portion of shirt. We got the L (10-12). It definitely is more on the size 10 side. My son is 10yo, 4'11", 78lbs and this just fits.

I know that most children's costumes are somewhat cheaply made and this one was no exception. My issue with the item was the item description. I labeled the sizes as one thing and when they came in they were a size larger on the packaging than what they had them labeled here on amazon. So beware I would contact them before purchasing this item to make sure the size that the advertisement shows is going to be the size on the packaging that you receive before purchasing, otherwise this was what i expected out of a children's costume.

My son's class participated in a "Walk Through California" interactive presentation. I had zero time to make him a costume, so I bought him this. It came on time, and it did not disappoint. Please note that my son is on the shorter side, and I bought him a 10/12 Large and it fit him perfectly. So if your child is tall or on the husky side, go a size up. He enjoyed his costume and got tons of compliments. He truly looked like a legit Conquistador!

I feel like this was a little pricey for what it really is, but I’m happy I found it. My son had yo present a book report from an 1500’s explorer and this was just right for it. He got extra credits for wearing it.
