Old, cut-up t-shirts in a bag... which is great! Deceptive description, but still would buy again.
They do exactly what they're supposed to do--clean up the paints, turpentine, mineral spirits, and black walnut oil I leave everywhere as a professional oil painter. Oil paints are notoriously difficult to use and clean-up after, and the simplest items are often to the best to handle the mess. Small towels, rags, and lint-free "wipers" are essential, but the cost can be a bit offputting, knowing you'll be throwing them away after a couple uses. These were a good price, so I went for it. Overall pleased with just a couple gripes.Pros:* Bright white so I can quickly see when it's time for a new one.* A lot of rags for the price.* Clean and odor-free right from the package, which helps me detect when my paint or supplies smell off and need to be replaced.* Large enough to lay across my lap for really messy projects (also a con, see below)Cons:* These aren't "lint-free" when you have to shake them out after pulling one from the bag. There's a reason for this which I wish I'd known before purchasing.* The product description says "cloths are made from reclaimed cotton knit" which is a fancy way of saying "cut up undershirts and t-shirts." I would have appreciated knowing that's what they were, as reclaimed shirts aren't the same as shop rags or white clean-up towels. I would have still purchased them since I actually prefer using old t-shirts for this particular job, but I'd have liked to know in advance that's what I was getting. When I read "cloths are made from reclaimed cotton knit" I think of a different product altogether, so I was surprised to find cut-up t-shirts stuffed in a bag. Just call it what it is! People will still buy it!* Because they're cut-up t-shirts, they're rather large for my purposes. I'm a small, petite woman with small hands, and these things right out of the bag are monsters! They look to be about the size of an XL men's shirt cut in two pieces, so I have to cut them in half to fit in my hand.* Right from the package, they're linty. Cut in half again, they produce even more lint. It's messy and annoying.OVERALL: I would buy again because the quality is great, but I'm knocking a star off for deceptive wording in the description. They're old t-shirts, just call them that! Artists love old t-shirts--it's a selling point, not something to be ashamed of!
