“It’s our job to bring the gifts of Spirit down…”
Thank you, Jana Dixon. My own Kundalini Awakening happened recently and totally spontaneously at age 70. I had long ago given up thinking about Kundalini or hoping it would be part of my spiritual life. I felt I was too old, a bit sick and and weak, but God is ever mysterious - and now I am actually healing, getting stronger from the Blessed Grace of Kundalini. Initially I preferred to ‘experience’ this rather than read about it! But there were certain confusions that Jana Dixon help to clear for me and for that I am extremely grateful. This book should be named the Encyclopedia of Kundalini as it is currently understood — and no one will ever understand Kundalini completely, partly because is is a God thing and also because we are all so very different. For me it was like a Sacred raging River of Fire, Divine Snakes of electric fire, and indescribable energy. For over 40 years I have been practicing meditation, reading the sacred Sanskrit texts, learning from many enlightened masters, and enjoying my own form of Bhakti Yoga. Thus I feel I was fortunately more grounded than many may be. I will never tell anyone what triggered my initial experience, as it was too other-worldly MAYA, brilliant and amazing. Fortunately my friend Brendan Ring recommended Jana Dixon’s work. Brendan is also an 'experiencer' and has written his own book “A Shamanic Kundalini Awakening” available here at amazon. Jana’s book is a mix of science, spiritual wisdom and knowledge, and the broad brush of ‘psychology’ and human relationships - because Kundalini infuses every aspect of our lives. Something for everyone.Again, thank you Jana Dixon for having the courage to write up all your research for us. We meet in the Heart!

Love this book!!!
Oh my gosh, I love this book. I'm so slow, it's a lot of information that is way over my head, but I'm willing to read it until I get it. What an amazing amount of work and research went into this. Wow!!! There is so much nutritional information, that alone is worth having this book close at hand. I have the online copy that is available, but as an old school reader I love to have an actual book that I can read while lounging. This is one of my favorite books.

The Goddess Kundalini - The Heart of Transformation
A complex book from a complex author that could be very useful to the right reader. It is a huge tome with no index so not necessarily helpful for a symptom research tool. However, it is written by an experiencer, (not a doctor or scientist,) who has been through this syndrome first hand with a eagle eye on what works and what does not. Is it comprehensive? It might be, but it is a good place to start in a subject that has basically emerged in the West only in the last 30 years; for sure when one is in these throes anything helps. Unfortunately a lack of index is a disappointing problem for there is only one way to find something and that is to just thumb through hoping to find a key word. That is why I gave it 4 stars for one assumes it is written for a person going through this as I did, 35+ years ago, so I know people will find it valuable AFTER they wade through all the long stories and convoluted scientific and non-scientific explanations. There is much valuable experience and advice in this book that can be truly helpful to others. She explains that this is the "Hero's Journey" of all journeys which is absolutely true. It requires a lot of courage, mental and emotional fortitude, but this book shows some solutions to these phases where such courage is required. I agree on many of the books' premises that this process is the "butterfly self emerging from the cocoon of the conditioned self...a socialized being into a Universal Being..born unto himself." But these precious statements are interspersed with long technical explanations. Will people going through this want to wade through pages and pages of scientific research into something as obscure as the Poly-Vagal Theory for example? However, this would be something a doctor would like to know who has a patient exhibiting these symptoms. Fortunately, there are lists of precious jewels of helpful supplement and mineral suggestions. I see it as a collection of encyclopedias crammed into one book, but without much guidance for those who are desperate for advice and solutions. It would be something that might help students in trans-personal psychology courses to prepare to treat patients with these symptoms as the explanations of various nervous system issues go in depth. I was surprised by her deep understanding of "Supra-Sex" and that "the urge to unite with God, and the urge to merge with a beloved runs on the same biological equipment" as this is so true and yet obscured from those not initiated. On the other hand her declaration that those like herself with miserable mother bonds will likely go through a Kundalini awakening is hard to reconcile without statistics. I doubt that every yogi who enters a spiritual quest is seeking the mother bond that was missing in childhood. There is lot here to read and ponder that is valuable and useful on this subject. I wish I had had such a book 30 years ago as in this book I recognize Kundalini Herself as I too have known Her, so there is a lot to learn from a wise source without harm.

By far the most helpful book on Kundalini I have ...
By far the most helpful book on Kundalini I have read. Yet one has to have processed their experience for years before the bulk of the book can be digested. Dixon goes into the biological roots of Kundalini in ways that match what other pioneers in the biology of Awakening are also doing. This ties the spiritual experiences, or even ill health experiences, to an Intelligence far greater than our own small minds.

Three Stars
For me it started with great promise and then dropped off.

Try not to be too intimidated by the depth of understanding. Patience and persistence is a requirement.
You will be unable to locate another comprehensive block of understanding with explanations, guidance, and the mandatory support one needs. It is mind blowing how Jana Dixon is able to share this.

Disgraceful
If I could give the book a zero I would have. Complete and utter negligence on the part of the author pretending to understand kundalini and the processes. Obvious lack of true understanding. Uses others thoughts which some are semi correct and her own which are useless especially from a practical standpoint. Trying too hard to understand the scientific components involved which shows a true lack of knowledge. If you want to know about kundalini then this book is not for you. Typical ignoranance found here in the West. Useless.

INVALUABLE
This is by far the most helpful book I have found on the subject of Kundalini. I am so grateful for all the research Jana undertook to offer such practical steps in nurturing the body while it deals with the stressful aspects of kundalini. This book offers a tremendous service to anyone going through the process of kundalini.

Like God talking to God about God
Put it this way. The author has had Kundalini aplenty. She is writing about kundalini to people experiencing it. It is like God talking about God to God.Only people who have had kundalini experiences write about it convincingly. This is chock full of hugely-intelligent filling in of the gaps between spirituality and science. The practical tips on nutrition etc I found totally overwhelming but absolutely comprehensive.Yogic practitioners get very possessive about Kundalini, which is ironic given that Kundalini owns them. There's none of that in this tome. The definitive manual as far as I am concerned.

A practical handbook for Awakening souls
A surprisingly engaging read for such a profoundly expansive subject. This book has really helped me make sense of my own experiences. I would be happy to recommend this book to anyone who is embarking on the journey of spiritual awakening and feel it is the nearest thing to a practical "handbook" that I have come across.
