Birkenstock Women's Yara Ankle Strap Sandals, 1 UK Narrow

I absolutely loved these shoes, and realizing that the only way I could get them was from this vendor in Germany, I kept putting it off. Who wants to wait a month to get a pair of shoes that you really can't return and aren't able to try on--especially when the reviews are so mixed regarding sizing?? Well, I liked the style so much that I gave in and ordered them. First, the shipping was no big deal. They say it can take a month; I think it took 8 or 9 days. The fit was EXACTLY like my other Birkenstocks. I always wear a 37 and this 37 was the identical fit. They aren't big or wide like some reviewers say. Maybe those reviewers aren't used to wearing Birkenstocks because these are the same exact footbed as all the others. I love the light brown color. I love the style. As far as comfort, they don't seem to be quite as comfortable as the regular Mayari because the added strap at the ankle is a little cumbersome and right now it's stiff. And you can't just slip your feet in and out so your feet don't feel as free as in the slip in and out styles. It really requires sitting down and buckling and unbuckling each time you take them on and off, because of the way the straps cross, there is no way to wiggle your feet in or out of them. These shoes are very much like the Mayari style. I have six pairs of Mayari Birkenstocks in the various colors because they are the most comfortable shoe made, in my opinion. I also have a couple pairs of Arizona, which I find clunky and a few in the other styles, that I almost never wear. The Mayari are best because the toe strap helps them stay on and the straps are thinner, unlike the Arizona, which feels big-buckled and heavy to me. This style is the exact shoe as the Mayari except that it has the added ankle strap. The strap is loose, not really supportive, and I don't think it's supposed to be. It's just a style difference, a look that mixes it up, which I LOVE! Right now these are my favorite pair of shoes and I am so glad I went ahead and ordered them, even from Germany. Truly, order your regular Birkenstock size--don't let the other reviews scare you about sizing. I usually wait until they go on sale to buy my Birkenstocks...in fact this may be the only pair I've ever paid full price for...but I'm sure glad I did. I'd even pay more for them, that's how happy I am with them.

These shoes are ultra-comfortable and have an elegant look as far as Birkenstocks go. They are a great shoe for walking around town, ideal for travel. They take a minute to put on, with the strap that wraps all around the ankle, so they are not the best for slipping on and off repeatedly, but they are overall great shoes. The ankle wrap provides a lot of stability and allows for a loose fit that you are confident will stay in place.

I was looking for a comfortable but stylish shoe and I came across these. When I first put them on, they were really inflexible. I thought I would end up with blisters, but to my surprise they actually got more comfortable as I wore them. Re: sizing. I wear US women's 7.5. I ordered size 37 med and they fit perfectly. They might even be considered a tad small according to Birkenstock, but I like them this way.

I usually get a new pair of Birkenstocks every couple years for the spring/summer so I am familiar with the brand. I liked that these looked a little different, and I think the ankle strap looks great with shorts and dresses. I am a US 7.5 in almost every shoe ever, and I got a 37 in these. They fit me perfectly, but do seem to be a little larger than some of my other size 37 Birkenstock sandals. I always find myself wishing there was such thing as a 37.5, but these fit me perfectly. I am glad I read reviews and went for the smaller of my two possible sizes.

I received this product early! I got it on 4/27 and it wasn't due to arrive till 5/5-6/2. The shoes are amazing. I read all of the reviews and decided to size down. I'm normally a 8-8.5 with an average foot width, so I purchased the 38 reg and they fit perfectly, so def. size down as it appears European sizes are larger. The straps are super comfy. I'm still breaking them in and expect they will be even more comfy with time. I was worried about the ankle strap being too tight as I'm a bit curvy and my ankles are larger than they used to be. I do have it on the last notch, but the leather has stretched out a little just from wearing it a full day. I need major arch support and I feel like these really provide that! I'm not one to spend a lot of money on shoes, so I'm really hoping these hold up for a few years as I wear sandals religiously in warmer weather and need shoes that last.

This is a beautiful sandal and the shipping from Germany only took a little over a week. I have a wide foot and normally wear a 10. It's been a long time since I wore Birkenstocks, so I ordered a 41 per the size conversion on this product page. However, even with a wide foot, I probably should have ordered down to a 40, especially as the toes have extra room at the front. These are still wearable, though, and I will not be shipping them back overseas. My only real problem with the sandal is that the strap that wraps around the ankle just barely fits and the buckle is at an angle where it is difficult for both hands to reach, so it has been hard to strap into these. I may take these to a cobbler to see if they can stretch the strap just 1/4". If you have a wide foot and high arches with a stockier build, you may want to think twice before ordering these.

I placed my order on March 30th from California. It was delivered April 8,2016. Nine days was a lot sooner than I expected. Awesome! I wear size 7 in everything except Frye, which tends to be erratic in sizing for me. I ordered size 37 regular fit, and they are perfect. I love the antique brown as they really go with any color. I paired them with a long Peace Love World skirt, and hi-lo Free People tshirt to run errands today, and received many compliments, as well as people asking where I found them. It is nice to have sandals which are stylish, in addition to being well made and good for your feet. It seems that with most sandals today, all 3 aren't an option, regardless of pricing.

Estoy muy contenta- me quedan como deberían, son comodas, ligeras y duraderas. Tambien quedan monas con cualquier prenda- falda, vestido, vaquero, pantalón corto. Eso sí- te tiene que gustar una sandalia mas "rustica" :) Lo único es que el cuero de este color se arraña con facilidad. Apliqué una cera para intentar conservarlo y le cambió el color un poquito a uno más oscuro, pero me siguen gustando! Muy comodas y recomendables.

Attention cependant il faut comme noté dans pas mal d'autres commentaires, prendre 1 taille en dessous de votre taille habituel. J'avais un peu peur de commander du 38 alors que je mets que du 39, mais effectivement il fallait ! Heureusement que j'ai suivi les conseils des autres commentaires sinon j'aurai eu une paire de chaussure trop grande. J'ai des chevilles très fine (je mesure 1m70 pour moins de 50kg) et j'ai pas eu à faire de trou dans les lanières comme certains autres commentaires le stipule. Chez moi c'était pas nécessaire, je sais pas pourquoi certaines personnes ont du en faire ! J'ai pris la paire en couleur marron, c'est très naturel.... parfait pour un look Hippie chic. J'adore ce produit... je crois que je vais pas les enlever de l'été :)

Love these. They look great on and very comfortable, one of the few birkenstocks to have an ankle strap. Very pleased with my purchase.

I was surprised my usual Birkenstock size 36M was too large for my feet in this style and I had to returned the sandals . I'm really please with the style and comfort after gone down to size 35M.

great except the ankle strap is tight, it will loosen up I'm sure - best looking birks ever
