The end of the line. The collected comic strips leading up to the eventual end of Bloom County. It was fun while it lasted!Trying to explain Bloom County to those who aren't familiar with it is difficult -- the appeal was part of the zeitgeist of the times -- let me put it this way, Bloom County was to 1980's comic strips what South Park was to 2000's TV cartoons.Perhaps Donald Trump said it best on the Critic's Page of the book..."'I never thought Berke Breathed had talent, so he was probably forced to quit.' Donald Trump, Albany New York, May 4, 1989"Or perhaps not...Try it, you'll like it!

Happy Trails begins with Opus deciding to get an illegal back-alley liposuction of his nose, and ends with him saying "Good-bye" to all of the familiar faces and places of Bloom County on the way to the sequel "Outland". On the pages that intervene Berkeley Breathed gets in some hilarious and dead-on pokes at religious fanatics, Donald Trump, Swimsuit Editions, and phone solicitors.Not quite as coherent a collection as the previous books as Breathed tries to get in his "last shots" before retiring Bloom County forever, this book is still hilarious and interesting, and a must-have for those looking to complete their BC collection.

I love Bloom County, but this book was not one of his finest moments. The story lines and plots were very boring and bordering on stupidity. This is probably why he gave up writing this comic strip. I would not recommend this to anyone.

I stopped reading the comics regulerly when Bloom County stopped. I didn't find the comics funny anymore. This work, which shows some of his earliest strips are funny, and if you understand the poltical references because you were alive then, which I was, it makes this all the more funny.

Good buy, got here quickly, sad to see the end - but great to read more Breathed! In good condition, delivered as quickly as possible.

A very funny Bloom county book. To anyone that hasn't read Bloom county before please do I'm sure you won't be dissapointed.
