New Balance Men's 574 V1 Core Sneaker

Disclosure: I am a female that buys these MENS NB.What can I say, I love these shoes and have been buying them for 10+ years. I have probably 5 pairs of them. They're incredibly comfortable for all day wear. And of top notch quality. The only reason I keep buying them isn't because the shoe fails in ANY way over years of use. Literally, nothing has failed. No separation of sole, no separation of anything with daily use with every pair I've owned. In all reality, I'm really not nice to my shoes. So, needless to say I typically buy many pairs because of something I do that's dumb. The last pair had an unfortunate event with paint.Disclosure 2: I do not use these for running. Again, a woman wearing a mens shoe likely isn't going to provide the right running fit. The perfect day-to-day use fit, yes. But not running. I find they tend to be too lose to run and I end up getting shin splints. I can, however, use them for a wide variety of other workouts as they do provide standing and limited movement stability. Not running though. Other reviews by men may be able to provide you more insight into its effectiveness.However, I will say the as a woman and I always buy the men's NB. They're just far cooler than the women's. MUCH better colors. (by the way, take note New Balance, not all women want 8 different neon colors on one shoe. Nor do they want to look like a teenager threw up on their shoes). Even with wearing mens' shoes, they fit REALLY well. Super happy, A+ for men's. F+ for women's. Or if you're a glass half full kinda person, D- for women's.Ladies size 9.5, Mens NB size 8M D

Ok, I've been wearing 574's for a very very long time. It was the best shoe built for me as I needed both the motion control and the stability features. So like idiots, NB dumped them a couple years ago. I went to Asics since NB was not replacing the shoe with a modern equivalent. I mean this shoe was around for I swear 15 years maybe more. It was a darned fine shoe. This one is similar, but cheap. The old soles were so cushioning while jogging back when I was young enough, and after my health went south, I needed the shoes for my diabetic issues. I mean they look sorta like the original, they are a little tighter than the originals, they gave a very tacky plastic shiny heel guard. Even though they are still made in Vietnam like the old 574's, it's just kind of a disappointment. But do I like these better than the high end Asics, yes. But nowhere near as nice a shoe as they had been.

I have recently purchased two pairs of New Balance shoes in the same size and width. One fit perfectly, the other was unbearably tight. That was this pair.But hold on! I found out that New Balance has a page on their site with something called LASTS. These lasts are very specific fits for different feet proportions. Where your foot is widest, the height of your arch, the rise of the middle of your foot, the height of the toe box. Amazing! Each of the 8 or so LASTS has a letter code associated with it. When you know your fit you can search for other model numbers that use the letter code. I know a very good fit LAST code from the other pair. I will return these and do my search using that code.So I want to applaud New Balance for having these very specific fits. (Five Stars!) But I want to criticize them and merchants for not letting us know more about them initially. (Minus One Star!) But now that I do, it's kind of great.

I have tall sons with big (and in some cases wide) feet. My oldest wears a size 16 and the next one wears a 15. You can't walk into brick and mortar stores and get shoes for feet that size.Even though my younger 3 boys don't have huge feet yet, I still choose the New Balance brand over others. New Balance size ranges, quality, and pricing are consistently reliable.Amazon is the best place to get New Balance shoes at the best price. Forget about other websites and hassling with coupon codes, slow shipping, and difficult returns. Amazon's free returns and Prime 2 day shipping make buying New Balance from Amazon a no brainer. No penalty if you guess the wrong size.This shoe, in particular, was great for both of my oldest sons. Black is perfect to disguise dirt and scuffs. They wear these daily to school, or just to hang out with friends. This is a great sneaker that can be worn with just about anything. Thumbs up!

Comfortable shoes. Fits true to size.

I opened the box and straight away could see they were too small. I took up running marathons back in 1982 with a pair of NB 220s, followed by NB 660s and since, of the dozens of trainers I've had, through road, cross country and gym I have only ever worn New Balance size 9.5. and they have always fit like a glove. I just thought I would buy these for casual wear to remind me of my glory days. I don't know who makes these under licence but a good place to start might have been the original New Balance templates. You really are taking a punt when It comes to ordering a size that may be close to fitting. Based on the size I received I probably should have ordered a size 11.5-12.5 as the 9.5 was both too short and way, way too narrow and the insole was too big in the left shoe. New Balance really should snatch back the manufacture licence before they blow a reputation that took decades to build. Thankfully Amazon and the seller were quick and simple on the return and refund.

I've had New Balance shoes for many years, I particularly like the range of width fittings available. I've also had some 574's before, so knew what to expect from these.The 574 has been around for a while, and I originally bought some as running shoes, but its fair to say that these can probably now be considered a general fitness shoe, or for some, a casual/leisure shoe. Whatever your use, these come in a huge range of colours and colour combinations, offer good support and cushioning, are very comfortable and are well made.I always find that New Balance sizes run lightly small, so often order a (UK) half size larger than I would in some other brands.
