Great, sturdy phone holder that is long lasting!
Lamicall Gooseneck Phone Holder is tough and long lasting. It will securely hold an iPhone max that’s in a sturdy case for as long as you need it without slipping or slowly dropping down and out of position due to weight of the phone like others do. The neck is not so easily repositioned and will stay put - one must apply some decent force/pressure to reposition it. Completely steady hands-free FaceTime, movies, Zooms, filming, etc. the clamp end is not small and wimpy either but easily tightened and will tightly closed until you unclamp it. This holds your phone securely without fear of it falling to the floor as long as you make sure it’s positioned in the phone holder clamp properly (it’s easy to do, but could be easy to not place it well if you’re not watching.) No damage to surfaces or the phone by either side of this item. Great product. Great for the $! I bought two and recommended it 100% 5 stars!

Should've gotten this sooner!
I knew I had a quality product on my hands when I noticed the rubber strip just in front of the clamp's hinge. As far as I can tell, its only purpose is protecting the clamp's spring, preventing anything from getting pinched in there. It has nothing to do with basic functionality, or with advertised features. It just makes the product better. This isn't one of those products where you wish the manufacturer had spent an extra nickel on better components; nor where you take it out of the packaging and realize that it was designed to just barely fulfill the letter of its features but not their spirit. You know that feeling when you get a pair of headphones and the "integrated playback controls" are a single button that recognizes various sequences of short and long presses? Or a camera that advertises 240 FPS but it turns out that it records at 30 FPS and then inserts seven extra copies of each frame? This, by contrast, is a good product. A maximum viable product, if you will, rather than a minimum viable product. I'm very happy with it. Here are some details that you may be wondering about. First, the clamp tension securely holds a phone without crushing it in a death grip. As shown in the photos, a phone can be placed in two positions: near the front of the clamp, and behind the second set of "teeth." This is useful if you have - here's detail two - a phone with a thick battery case. The first position holds a phone of average thickness perfectly, and a very thick phone very passably. If you want more peace of mind, though, you can move the phone a bit rearwards so that its front is held by the first position's rear teeth. Those teeth may cover a tiny portion of the phone's screen (given modern narrow bezels), but that's part of what guarantees their secure hold. Third, the ball joint connecting the clamp to the gooseneck is perfectly serviceable. It's easy to tighten and loosen, easy to adjust when loose, and firm enough when tight. If you have a really heavy phone, though - or if you put one phone off to one side in the first position and another toward the opposite side in the second, like I do, because I sometimes want a miniature dual-monitor setup - it tends to sag even when hand-tight. I can't fault it for this, because 1) that's not a reasonable load, 2) you can just let it sag and then adjust the gooseneck a bit higher to compensate, and 3) increasing the load capacity would need a whole new design, not a simple/obvious fix. Even though it's not a negative, it's a good detail to know about. Fourth, the gooseneck itself: if you're not trying to bend it, it won't bend. If you are trying to bend it, it will bend. Pretty much the perfect level of tension. Fifth, the base clamp: padded jaws that won't mar furniture, and the knob to open and close them is that entire plastic tube that extends out of the base, making it easy and comfortable to adjust. Sixth, the stability of the whole contraption: as good as can be. The gooseneck's rigidity means that very little wobble comes from the product itself. Mounting conditions are more important: mine is on my bed's headboard, which extends upward without extra support - that can wobble before I even attach anything to it. One solution is to mount it at the lowest point of the headboard, but my solution (see photos) is to adjust the gooseneck so that it rests against the wall with just a bit of tension. This cuts down any wobbling to virtually nothing. Note that I have a bit of plastic around the part that contacts the wall, to minimize wear on the wall as well as on the gooseneck's braided nylon. If you use your phone in a desktop stand, pick up your phone (yes, now) and hold it up where you wish it could be instead of on your desk. Those of you now muttering "but I want it on my desk" are all set. The rest of you would probably benefit from this gooseneck holder.

UPDATED REVIEW - Product broke but Lamicall sent a New One!
UPDATE: Reached out to Lamicall regarding this issue and they quickly responded to all of my emails (we exchanged several back and forth to resolve the issue) with excellent customer service and immediately honoring their warranty without stress or hassle. I literally received my replacement in about 24 hours. They also reached out to me thru Amazon, not realizing I resolved it thru my own email, and offered to refund full price based on the issue posted in my origimal review. I really liked this holder because it seemed strong, and it was, until it broke. The issue is that the physics of metal being repeatedly bent causes structural weakening leading to breakage; it is just too brittle a medium to handle that activity. With this new replacement holder, I am going to try to bend the holder to fit the spot, so I only have to screw it on or off to remove it and put my phone in it, but so I *do not* have to frequently bend the metal rod, as I believe that is the weak point. I think regarding it as more fragile and being careful while using it, I hope to have it last a lot longer. Either way, feel confident ordering this product. Try to use it gently and in a way that doesn't require frequent bending of the rod or aggressive tightening or shaping of the unit. If the product happens to fail, this company provides excellent customer service, an 18 month product warranty, and they are quick, professional and expedient to kindly offer refund or replacement without stress. I upgraded to 4 stars to reflect this, and found the holder to be sufficient and strong...til it broke. Needing it to rest my back (watching a movie keeps me from wanting to jump up and do more stuff!), I was disappointed when it broke, because it seems to be one of the better/stronger ones on the market. This is why I opted for a replacement instead of a refund. Other holders seem a Ton more flimsy and cheap. This one seemed solid state, but I wrote to the company and warned them: physics always wins. Bending metal will only last so long; it is just too brittle to handle that activity. So if you are an engineer or know of a miracle bendy product that is also quite strong and durable/enduring, reach out to Lamicall with your suggestions on how to improve their product - for their and our benefit - because I think they are close to having a great product here...except for those pesky physics! I would still recommend this product and you will also have the peace of mind to know you can rely on the company to stand by their product in the event of a malfunction or failure...and with excellent customer service to boot. Still a win! Original Review: Lasted 6 months with Very infrequent use, then broke near the base, becoming largely what these kinds of products from you-know-where give us: more products for our landfills.

Well made
First, my intent on buying this was to mount on a baby grand piano and be able to do video lessons with students. My concerns when buying it were: 1. How strong the goose neck would be? I have goose neck mic stands and the goose necks do not hold in position anything very heavy. Nor do they hold their shape very well. This holder seems well made and of solid construction. The goose neck portion is VERY strong and feels like a solid piece of steel rod. It takes much more effort to bend than a normal mic stand goose neck. It does hold its shape very well. 2. How would it attach to the piano. I did not want something that would damage the finish but hold tightly. The clamping mechanism is easy to adjust and tighten down. The clamp itself has some rubber pads that keep it from scratching the piano. 3. Will the phone clamp securely hold the phone when placed facing down. The clamp is strong enough to securely hold the phone in any position. There are a couple ridged areas that you will want to make sure the phone is behind to make it secure. Now for a few "take note of" points. 1. The piano is on wooden floor joist and not a concrete floor. While playing or even walking around the piano there is some "bouncing" of the piano. It is not a whole lot, but it is there. This causes some bouncing and movement of the holder and phone. It is not so much due to the holder but on what it is attached. I might have to move it to a stand on the floor, but it also bounces some. I will need to check to see how much it affects the view by the student. 2. Dialing "911". I have an iPhone which has the capability to dial 911 when pressing the side buttons together. Be careful not to clamp the clamp over these two buttons. Also, do not press these buttons while trying to put the phone in the clamp. You can either take note of this while inserting the phone or simply turn off this feature on the phone. The later was my choice after accidentally dialing 911. Otherwise, good quality and price. Sturdy. I can see it working for multiple scenarios and applications.

Great product!
Wife practices telemedicine from home at a stand-up desk, she cannot hold phone and take notes, so this has worked perfect for last year+. I would buy again. FYI, it is very rigid, will definitely hold any phone!

Works great!
Bought this for my 15 year old and it is solid! It holds his phone tight, clamps to his headboard so he can watch videos without holding his phone above his head. It's a bit stiff and hard to bend but that just means it won't fall if being used! Now I need one for me!

Breaks after a year
This is a great phone holder and it's rock solid until you use it about a year, then the metal rod inside snaps off right at the top of the clamp section. To be clear I get in bed every night and pull it down in front of me to watch a show and fall asleep and then every morning I push it up out of my way to get how to set. It cannot seem to handle this everyday movement for more than a year. I've replaced it twice. You can see in the picture where the metal just shears off and breaks.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Good Phone Mount With One Flaw
I’ve had this phone mount for a couple years and still use it regularly, so overall it has definitely been worth it. The only issue is that a plastic piece that tightens one of the joints eventually broke. Because of that, I have to bend the arm to get the angle I want and be careful not to put pressure on the phone cradle or it can pop off. If that connector were made with a more durable material, this would easily be a 5-star product. Still, it’s been very useful and has held up well aside from that one weak point.
