This buckwheat honey is an amazing product from a small family-owned company that really cares about honey and the environment. I love that it is in a large GLASS bottle that is reusable and recyclable unlike most honeys sold in plastic. You will be surprised by the unique flavor profile. So the honey arrived today. First let me say the jar was packed very well; wrapped in bubble wrap and then packed in peanuts to keep it fron rolling around. I use honey in my golden milk every night and since different honeys have different health benefits and flavor profiles I tend to keep several different ones on hand for variety. As of tonight, THIS Buckwheat honey is my hands down favorite! The color is a deep, dark amber. The flavor profile includes a subtle chocolate malt taste with just enough bitterness to keep the honey from being overly sweet. I believe this is the best tasting honey I've ever had. Highly recommend!

I’ve tried honey from local farms near us, and this tastes exactly the same. I’ve tried so called “farm owned” honey from Amazon before, and something was always lacking. All the way up until I tried this honey, which of quality it is immaculate. Tastes like a mix between honey and molasses, which is always a good thing. Plus, it doesn’t just taste good, it is extremely good for you. According to my research, the darker the honey, the more antioxidants are inside. Apparently, buckwheat honey is PACKED with good stuff for you, especially antioxidants. Once you go to REAL farm to house honey, you’ll never go back.

Buckwheat honey is extra dark and has a strong, unique flavor. It is my favorite! If you haven't tried it - get some. Thank you to the Bee Keeper's Daughter for providing this variety. I have brought this from them before and am glad to be a repeat customer.

Good quality buckwheat honey. Tad thinner than Sandt's and a bit sweeter, also has a more pronounced molasses taste. If you want a strong tasting, sweet buckwheat honey this would be good, probably kids would like this one, too.

I have been saving this until using up the jars of Russian buckwheat honey I already had. I opened one jar of the two I ordered from Amazon in December and was floored by the taste..a bit surprised it was hardened (i.e. crystallized) but a half spoon of it in my mouth could easily become addictive. I don't want to set it in boiling water to liquify it. I did not remember that I ordered it from Amazon. . .I thought I had ordered it directly from the farm..so I called her (the beekeeper's daughter) to see what else they had. They had two jars for $40...but that is not free shipping. . .they also had some flavours that amazon does not offer, and she was so nice and informative, that I ordered 2 two-packs of some other honey because I like to try new things. The shipping for the 10 lbs. of honey was about 9 dollars and change, so it's basically the same price...this IS pricey compared with the local international market. . .although their buckwheat honey has been increasing in price also, coming to over $10 per pound, so it really evens out. I was also very impressed with the way the packaging was prepared when purchased through Amazon...though I believe it was packed by the source. No jars were broken or leaking, as has happened in the past with glass jars, plastic lids, paper bags, etc. These are the same glass jars with metal screw-lids that I used to purchase creamed honey in the 70's and 80's, and I still have those jars, and use them to store a variety of beans, grains, etc. Being somewhat of a snob about certain foods, I must say that this buckwheat honey is the most unique I have ever tasted. I use it exclusively in my morning coffee, so its hardened state is not an issue since I blend the coffee plus collagen and spices in an Oster blender, and limit myself to morning. For tea in the afternoon, I use a different floral honey..so I am interested in how the Daughter's other honey will taste. I definitely recommend this buckwheat honey through Amazon, if you only want jars with free shipping, or if you are willing to pay shipping costs and to examine other products in the Daughter's line not offered through Amazon, and/or if you want to speak with an actual person and have questions about origins, etc. I will have enough buckwheat honey for quite a few months if I can refrain from dipping into the jar all during the day. I gave category "giftable" one star because, as a buckwheat fanatic, I would NEVER give this honey away unless the potential recipient is also a buckwheat fanatic...and so far, I have not met any.

OK, my wife is a honey fanatic. She has started her day with a tablespoon of honey every day that I have known her - for the last 15 years. We try to travel abroad every 6 months and we have tried the honey in every country we have been to. Buckwheat honey is her/our favorite and her first reaction to tasting Beekeepers Daughter buckwheat was "This honey is not of this planet. Seriously, this is amazing." Buckwheat honey may not be for everyone, but if you like it dark and intenst, this honey is "the bomb".
