I still haven’t found a suitable steel string for my 5th string BUT must say that this set has good balance on the uke for string sizing across all ...
I bought this set for my Beltona Tenor resonator ukulele. It’s a custom 5-string uke, all single courses, tuned A G C E A.The 5th string, to add to this “standard” steel GCEA set, is proving difficult to find an appropriate guage for -so I have been delaying giving any comments about this set. I still haven’t found a suitable steel string for my 5th string BUT must say that this set has good balance on the uke for string sizing across all 4 strings. My uke is much louder than with tradtional strings - with quite a different sound - more like a mandolin or something ! A good different ! Will buy again. I wonder if they can suggest a suitable 5th string for this low A ?

Excellent - don''t over tension
Excellent - don''t over tension! They will snap sooner than synthetic strings because they just don't stretch nearly as much. I put these on my Lanikai Tenor Uke - It was the first time I had used metal strings and wow what a huge difference in sound - kinda added a slight Spanish guitar sound of sorts. Try these out, and keep in mind there is more than one way to arrange the strings. Cheers!

Doing their job.
I bought some of these for a solid body electric ukulele I have which though Tenor was one I was going to string DGBE as I play a baritone generally.Anyhow these strings fitted ok and sound fine as they are fairly new on I'm not sure of their longevity nor how long they take to bed in proper as when new strings are on they do tend to be a tad bright and sound better in a week or two generally. For now though they are fine..tension is great and they aren't bad on the fingers at all..the transition from nylon has been fine. All in all ...for the price they are performing at this point as I would want them to.
