Happy cats and an even happier owner! **Updates added**
The media could not be loaded. Quick Read Review:I am very impressed and happy overall with this litter box. I was very concerned that I would regret this purchase, but Iām happy to report that is not the case. Even with the minor complaints I have, I love not having to clean the litter box every day, multiple times a day. Even more so that my cats are now in a healthier situation in having clean litter every time they go.My two cats took to it fairly quickly with the brave one going in within half an hour and the skittish one following suit about an hour later.Iāve attached photos, videos, and screenshots to hopefully assist you on your decision making. Iāll answer any questions or clear up any confusion if there are any.**BELOW IS MY ORIGINAL REVIEW, UPDATES ADDED AT THE BOTTOM**Below is my detailed review:What you get: My litter box came with a few extra goodies! A few kitty toys, a litter mat, and not one but TWO rolls of drawer liners for the litter box.Looks/dimensions: Like I mentioned, it is, in my opinion, more aesthetically pleasing than several of the other competitors. It comes in 4 colors and I personally chose the avocado green. I was worried that it would stick out like a sore thumb in our apartment, but itās actually a subtle green and the unit itself doesnāt call too much attention to itself. The product dimensions listed on the Amazon details page (24 x 22 x 27.5 inches) are accurate. The entry hole itself is roughly 9 inches wide and is ~14.5 inches from the ground. We have two cats, one chonky boy and one slender boy; both are also average height. Neither have an issue getting in or out. Youāll notice a small step below the hole, Iām not sure how much it was intended to be used, but neither of my cats use it to actually get in, mostly just to look inside. To get in, they both put both their front paws on the lip of the entry hole and just hoist themselves in. Your catās behavior may vary.Function: Iāve included a video with my review that gives you an idea of how it works. Your kitty does their business, they get out, then the drum begins to turn automatically. Your kittyās ābusinessā gets separated with a screen that lets the clean litter pass on through while the ābusinessā clumps get dropped into a storage drawer below. It continues to turn until it gets back into its default position with the litter ready to go for the next user. Itās that simple. Clean litter for your kitty every time. And like the makers of this litter box claim, itās very quiet. All you hear is the gentle electric hum of the motor as it turns. We have ours in the living room, but I have no doubts a person could sleep through the small amount of noise it makes. Another plus is no smell since the ābusinessā is always getting sorted out and emptied into the storage drawer below which is spacious as well. Between the two of my kitties, it usually takes between 3-4 days for the app to alert me that the liner has to be changed because the drawer is full. Even better, changing the liner is so much easier and less time consuming than scooping. And to top it all off? It utilizes UV light sterilization to kill the germs and bacteria that are the primary cause of odor in the first place. I quickly noticed there was no longer any lingering odor coming from our litter box area, which is something I suppose Iād just gotten used to.App: So yes, this litter box comes with a companion app. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the initial setup and pairing was very easy. The UI (user interface) is very easy and I am sure many will find it easy to navigate the app with ease. It feels well made and it gives me confidence that developers will continue to work on it and not abandon it. It has a lot of intuitive features that I have yet to take advantage of, but the short list is it can alert you to your kitty using the Loo, that a cleaning cycle has initiated, give you your petās weight, alert you when the ābusinessā drawer is full and need to be emptied, etc. You can also customize the cleaning schedule if you so desire. I also noticed that there is virtually no delay between sending a command and the litter box responding.Customer Service: I reached out to Customer Service a couple of times (both through Amazon and their website) and each time they have been prompt in replying and very kind in their responses. I can also verify that they are based in the US which is so nice to know.I only had a couple of minor complaints that are as follows:*NO LONGER AN ISSUE, SEE UPDATE BELOW!** Firstly: the litter box weighs your pet during each use and sends the result to you via the app. During the first week, the weights of both my cats were way off. My chonky boy came in at 10lbs while my slender boy came in at 2lbs. I can guarantee that was not accurate. During the course of having this litter box, the weight readout has been very inconsistent. With fluctuations being as extreme as -/+ 5lbs. Not sure if an app update or firmware update can fix this, but unless this is absolutely crucial for you to have, I donāt see it as a big downfall. I will say the last few days have been closer to accurate, so it may be a calibration thing that Iām not aware of.Lastly: A complaint that isnāt unique to this box, and will usually be a problem if you use clumping clay litter, is the tracking of the litter outside of the box. This litter box does not solve the litter tracking problem, even with the neat litter mat they provide for free. Especially with my two boys, who will sometimes leap from the hole and land completely off the mat. I still have to do a daily sweep to make sure litter doesnāt start tracking all over the apartment. Again, not the fault of this litter box, but something to be aware of that you will still experience.Like I said, very minor complaints that are hardly relevant, I am very happy with my purchase and would recommend this litter box to any cat owner. Itās worth the investment upfront since it has saved me time and a headache of having to worry about making sure their litter is clean.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------*UPDATE 1: April 9th, 2022*The weight readout inaccuracy was, in fact, a recalibration issue! I reached out to customer support and they assisted me with very clear instructions on how to recalibrate the scale. Very easy to do, took me less than a minute, and it works perfectly now. It's accuracy is within -/+ 1lb of their real weight. Customer service really knows their stuff and is willing to help you to ensure you're having a pleasant experience with this litter box.-------------------------------**Update 2: June 18th, 2022 (3 month update)**We are still loving our automatic litter box. Even more so, we just found out that we're pregnant!! As great of news as that is, many will know that it is nearly required that pregnant women must NEVER clean litter boxes for the health of the baby...so guess who is stuck with litterbox duty 100% of the time! Yep, this guy...but it's so much easier and less daunting that I don't mind! haha. We have had zero issues and are still loving the scoop free life. I just finished the second monthly cleaning and it took me about half an hour since I like to take my time. We have converted two other families to this litter box and they are so much happier for it. I still recommend this litter box 100%!!-------------------------------**Update 3: September 26th, 2022 (6 month update)**Still going strong! About two weeks ago, I had finally finished the two rolls of bags that initially came with the litter box. I purchased another roll of 25ct for $15. A good buy in my opinion since they last so long. I've had absolutely no issues since my last update. I've since done a few monthly maintenance cleanings which are super easy and take maybe a half hour start to finish, you could be faster, but I like to take my time when I do things like that. Our two boys are still use the litter box without issue. Our cats definitely like having a clean litter box every time and will get fussy if I don't empty the tray shortly after it gets full (which causes the box to stop sifting). Like I said in my last update, my wife is now very pregnant and I have become responsible for a lot around the house, so I am very happy that daily litter box cleaning in not on the list. I still recommend it to all friends, family, and coworkers. Of course their biggest hang up is the price, which I understand....but man, this is truly worth the convenience you get in return.

Got off to a rocky start, but now will never go back
Background: I have one cat: a 10 year old, petite to average build male cat who can be a little opinionated and stubborn. I live in a small 2BR apartment.Caveats: I have not yet deep-cleaned the unit.History: Previously, we have had automatic litter boxes, but they had been the open boxes with the rake. Our cat has never had an issue transitioning to new boxes or even new litters in the past.Experience: So I will kind of go from start to present. I was fed up with the rake-style litter boxes doing a poor job and not managing the scent very effectively. So I decided to splurge and get my kitty one of the rotating barrel style boxes. I pored over reviews and specs and settled on the Loo Too rather than the more commonly known Litter Robot. I won't lie, part of the selling point was that my cat's name is Louie, so it could be Louie's Loo Too. I also liked the look more and appreciated that it seemed to have a slightly smaller footprint than the litter robot. Inches count in a tiny apartment!!When we got the unit, I somehow got the big, heavy unit into the apartment. However big you think this box is, it is bigger. LOL. Louie was quite obsessed with the box, as cats usually are!Setup want extremely smoothly. Instructions are clear and honestly most of it is self-explanatory anyway. Put on the liner, plug it in, put in litter. I got the litter recommended by the company: Scoop Away Clumping Clay. It paired with the app effortlessly and I tested out running it from the app. My cat seemed fascinated by the machine right away, peeking inside. Now, here I want to put the disclaimer that I did NOT follow two pieces of advice from the company. Immediately after setting up the Loo Too, I put his old litter box, litter and all, into the box for the Loo Too and took it to the dumpster. This was a mistake. But with the lack of space, we didn't really have the space to have both just hanging out in the apartment.By this point, it was relatively late, so we put Louie's paws in the new litter, and he ran away. This didn't set off alarm bells because he does not like to be pushed to do anything unless it is his idea first.I checked the app in the morning and saw that my cat had not gone into the box. I was getting used to the interface, but I had gotten the notifications when I manually ran it previously. This didn't concern me as Louie had slept with me most of the night anyway.I work from home and kept an eye on him and he was acting strangely. He seemed very upset and sad, looking for his old box. I reminded him that this was his new box and showed him the litter. But he seemed to refuse to go inside the new box.It was at this point that I realized I hadn't saved any of his old litter to scent the new litter. I kicked myself for this, however he had never had an issue before. So I got a small tray, put some litter in it, and placed it directly in front of the Loo Too. Louie went in the temporary box immediately. I scooped the temp box into the loo too, leaving it for a little while before running it.He REFUSED to use the Loo Too. I realized that I had put too much faith in his past history of transitioning easily. But in this case, it was his first covered box and was new litter. I was so worried, partially because I then saw that I should not throw out the box in case a return was needed, and the box was gone. I tried everything. I set it to manual only. Litter attractant, adding catnip, giving treats right next to the Loo Too, bribing him with better treats if he would use it, rewarding proximal progress... Nothing seemed to work.I do want to say, at like, Day 7, I reached out to Smarty Pear on Facebook and had a nice chat with the social media person cat owner to cat owner. She gave me more things to try and reassured me that they would work out something with me if I needed to return the unit, but she encouraged me to give it a bit longer, and reminded me that they have that 90 day window in order to get him acclimated. After 5 days, he walked into the Loo Too on his own. He shook his head and immediately jumped out. I rewarded him with the good treats so he had a positive association. At this point I wondered if the height was an issue, so I got a step for him. He seemed totally uninterested in the step and would step around it when looking inside. After 11 days, I decided to remove the temporary box. He was UPSET by this. That day he peed on a fresh load of laundry while staring me directly in the eye. After treating the laundry and putting it back in the washer, I broke down and started sobbing and he trotted over to comfort me. And just said "Louie that is NOT where we go potty! We go potty in the litterbox." And I pointed and used the scooper to simulate digging. And the little butthead, who I love dearly, hopped into the Loo Too as if to say "Ohhhh okay now I get it." And I said "Yes, THAT is where you go potty." And he did it. It was like a switch just flipped. I gave him lots of praise and gave him some of the good treats and I manually ran the box, which he was fascinated by. After it ran, he went in and used it again. At this point, I set it onto automatic, and he thought this was super cool.I am THRILLED to say he is now obsessed with going in his cool new spaceship of a litter box! He loves it, I love it. It was definitely a rough couple of weeks for him to make the transition, but now I won't use anything else. It is so easy to change out the bag and manage his litter. I have not done a deep cleaning quite yet, but seems like it would be relatively easy using a showerhead or hose for the barrel and a vacuum / wipes for the rest.Takeaways:- For real. Follow the instructions and keep the box somewhere.- If you don't keep the old litterbox, carry forward some litter.- Be prepared to give it time.- It is worth the headache of the transition.Additional items:- The step that was recommended by Smarty Pear was this one (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016P2STRW?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details), though they said they are developing one made specifically for use with the Loo Too.- Deodorizing bags: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07RPS65J4?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details- Bags (these will last foreverrr): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B09LKT6GGP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1= Litter mat: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0B3J184HY/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1-
