This is a no-brainer--in my top 3 all-time favorite movies. You have to see this--one of the all-time best stories ever told. And while you're at it, order tissues as well--you'll need them!

First of all, I love the movie and it's an absolute classic. I just wanna throw my two cents in on the Blu-ray release and say that despite some other reviews, I am satisfied with the picture quality of the Blu-ray version. First of all it's an older movie- we're talking like TWENTY YEARS OLD, so no matter how many times it's remastered, it's not going to reach Dark Knight-esque quality. Yeah, there are definitely problems with grainy-ness and other imperfections, but I just got done watching a close-up of Shoeless Joe Jackson on my Samsung in 1080p, and I can promise you this isn't just marginally better than DVD, it's quite noticeably better. Some of the professional reviews I've read suspect that Universal used the same transfer for this edition as they used for the hd-dvd release a few years back. Since that's probably very likely, I wouldn't be surprised to see an improved transfer in the future, since transfer technology and remastering technology improve over time. But how soon? NOT FOR A LONG TIME! I wouldn't expect a new transfer for another 10 years since transferring/remastering is very costly(take for example North by Northwest's gigantic one costing $1 million recently). After all, Universal is not going to invest the money if they can't recoup it with sales. So moral of the story- this is the best edition you're probably gonna find for a long time :)

It's Costner...its a classic

The fantasy part can put off a lot of those who want strict pure time stories. But I loved the notion of being able to see long ago hero's playing together once more. I first got the movie in VHS format when it was released in a McDonald's promotion. Though I hadn't seen it in the theater, I enjoyed it, plus the free price was right. I bought it on Blu Ray, when my hubby told me the character portrayed by Burt Lancaster had been his school doctor growing up and how Lancaster in the movie looked like Dr. Graham did in real life. Since his home town is also in the movie, I had to get it, especially for him. Over the years it has become one of my favorites. Landcaster, Costner, James Earl Jones, and Ray loiotta are some of my all time favorite actors who appear. And I'm a baseball fan from my 1st pro game when I was 4 and I can still remember it, all these years later. This movie reinforces my love of the game.

Hay poco que yo pueda decir de la película en sí, recuerdo haberla visto en el cine en su momento y recuerdo que a mí me gustó mucho. Tal vez la volví a ver en la tv alguna vez, pero, claro, con comerciales y definitivamente no en 4k. Súper recomendable. Como siempre una pequeña pena que el código digital no funcione acá, pero bueno, es lo de menos. El servicio como siempre de primera. Gracias y saludos.

Excellent film, surtout la qualité du 4k est excellente par rapport à l'âge du film et bien supérieure au Blu Ray. La VF est canadienne, mieux vaut la VOST

Blu Ray transfer is slightly granular but at the price paid is no real quibble. Field Of Dreams is a great, under rated, subtle, heart warming and enjoyable movie. It's not world changing, it can baffle but it has the sparkle that can touch the soul deeply and one cannot ask for any more than that. If you've never seen it then you are missing out, if you have seen it the watch again, it will reward.
