This book is a great practical handbook for inclusion and leadership development What makes it different from other management or leadership development books is that the author has put forward a slice of her life or rather many slices of life from her illustrious career journey for the reader to think , reflect and imbibe key learnings A few observations 1) form wise well written with apt choice of words 2) content wise pithy ,practical ,witty and important takeaways in each chapter 3) the personal touch and anecdotes add a zing , a different flavour to the reading experience . Makes it racy and it’s a quick read as well 4) it could be like a Lean in or any other international book - a strong and successful leader’s journey expressed in a meaningful and regaling way

While I was working, I came across Lady, You're not a man and got intrigued by the title and read the book. I connected in many ways and loved the book. In fact, I recommended it to my colleagues as well. Now, I read Lady, You're a boss is a homemaker and couldn't connect much in few scenarios, and also it's mostly for women in leadership roles. That being said, definitely, it will be useful for women in entry-level or who want to make an impact. But, it's a must-read for aspiring women leaders. Her examples are lively and we will connect at one point in time.

At the core, this book is about Leadership. The author beautifully laces these lessons into real life case studies. While the title and a few topics are contextualized from the perspective of working women, I recommend that this book be read by every leader irrespective of the gender. It would help each leader to reflect upon biases that they may be carrying and certain stereotypes that they may be falling into. The short and crisp writing makes the topics lively and relatable. The fantastic narrative and the summary at the end of the topics clearly calls out the lesson. These, make this book a great collage of self-help, life lessons, leadership lessons. The effort reflects the tremendous body of work of the author, who is a luminary and one of the most respected leader from Corporate India. Thoroughly enjoyed, learnt about a few stereotypes that am guilty of and most importantly, am having a huge learning experience! Can't wait for #3 ... Go ahead and give it a read... You don't want to lose out on important lessons...

Apurva writes in her own inimitable style; it’s well articulated, her thoughts are well laid out and above all its easy reading. Several management lessons for all of us. Her Kehna Karna Nibhana is a very powerful message. I recommend it to every aspiring leader, and leaders who believe they have reached their destination! It’s truly gender neutral. Above all, Apurva addresses a very critical issue. How can our women workforce be treated as equals? Apart from the most important moral issues, the economy as a whole is a big loser by keeping the more balanced gender at arms length. Well done Lady. You are simply the Boss!

This is not a princess story with knight in shining armour .. it's a guide to be your own knight and shine !! Its not a to do list towards success.. it makes one introspect towards their career n life choices thus calming that organized chaos !! It dosen't have big fancy words to make u feel obtuse.. author writes directly from heart making sure we connect with her in this journey as a friend n mirror !! Finally.. a must read for everyone especially female younger audiences who are trying to make their mark.. this book can be your indirect mentor :)

For me this is the first of its kinda read from a woman author of my land .hence there is so much I could relate (bare the bollywood examples or hindi lines) such sorted out chapters and examples and crisply laid pointers .loved it entirely. Will order the hardcopy and re read it again. I could relate to APJ sir s autobiography cause he outlined how indians lacked in leadership qualities though they were hardworking passionate and all .It was neutral and not gender specific. Here the author tries to inculcate the same qualities to women majorly . Who more can put it rightly than a married woman who has faced all the hassles and have climbed the rungs of the corporate ladder . The points for leadership qualities are not anything new to us but the approach and the viewpoint is totally new as first she addresses the women centric problems and then she comes to the approach.This makes the read coherent and complete to me!

Unlike the last book, I decided to go slow with this one like sipping my martini sip by sip enjoying the flavours on my tongue and palette. Lady you are the boss beats the hard facts on your face however also presents a way around to deal, to manage, to mitigate and resolve the gender diversity existing at workplace. I am a huge fan of Apurva’s writing style. It simplifies jargons in chewable nuggets, she shares experiences and says ‘you are not alone, We are in it together’. Authentic, relatable and an easy read. I recommend this one to men and women equally. A significant must read in today’s corporate era.

For any woman who believes that her best version is yet to come, this is a compulsory read. The book is a string of anecdotes told with the aplomb of an expert raconteur. But the flow is far from random. The author (true to her reputation of being a no nonsense business leader) has arranged these neatly in two sections. While the first section dwells on the life of the "Lady" the second section lays out important life lessons for the "Boss" Unlike similar books like "Lean In" the stories here are ours and therefore so much more appealing. Anyone reading this book is assured of gaining insight into the gender dynamics at the workplace and walking away with important lessons on creating a culture where men and women thrive.
