Funktioniert

Impressive device with metal carrying case and comprehensive instructions and
I have used this device for domestic rather than professional purposes and already it has proved its worth.Just to emphasise: obviously is you smell gas or think you smell gas don’t wait to do your own device checking - call an emergency gas leak response immediately. In my case, I wasn’t sure that I could smell gas - no other family members could - and I already owned the device. Leaving the device in the closed boiler cupboard for a couple of minutes confirmed that, yes, there was a low level gas leak. It was attended to immediately and repaired with the engineer using a probe detector and professional skill to pinpoint the source.I was very impressed when I opened the device cardboard box upon receipt: the detector is housed in a very nice looking and professional metal case with padding inside. It not only makes it easy to carry the device but it also provides protection whilst ensuring the device is stored safely with the accessories without the accessories being lost. There’s a USB charger, charging cable, and a belt clip as well as a high quality colour printed manual that oozes technical data on the device specifications. The detector has a removable film screen protector on the screen. I generally prefer to leave screen protectors on devices but in this case took the protector off to more easily read (and photograph) the screen.Very importantly, the manual distinguishes between operations that must only be carried out by professionals and the operations that can be carried out for domestic use. The device is factory calibrated but it does have a calibration function. The manual states, in strict language, that non professionals must not use the calibration function. The detector can measure four different gasses: hydrogen sulphide, a range of EX gas types, carbon monoxide, and oxygen saturation percentage.I will - hopefully - have no use for the hydrogen sulphide function. The oxygen saturation function, for domestic use, is also hopefully redundant. The EX gas detection function has so far been of practical use - as above - and the carbon monoxide function is useful although, again, no replacement for the essential fixed and working carbon monoxide alarms in all living areas. The startup chimes and voice are clear. The voice has a strong Chinese accent but the English of the female speaker - I think it is a speech synthesis voice - is very clear and actually does have a novelty value too.The oxygen saturation alarm can be set fairly easily following the instructions to avoid nuisance tripping. The default value is sensibly set to trip at a low threshold as a fail safe. The alarms comprise both chimes and voice alerts. The backlight makes the LCD display easy to read in the dark. The backlight can be set to “auto” or always/usually on.Charging is easy. The device came with sufficient charge out of the box that, with my domestic use, I have not needed to charge the device since I took it out of the box other than to test that the charging function works. The detector has an in-built non non replaceable lithium battery. The manual states that the battery fully charged has a working life of ten hours. The detector is waterproof to IP65 standard - dustproof and water jet resistant but not submergible. The USB charging connector is protected by a rubber push down/prize open seal. There’s a strong metal clip screwed to the back of the detector for clipping to a belt for mobile working. The device may be overkill for domestic use but, then again, there aren’t many devices other than professional devices that can detect EX gas or air oxygen saturation.Pros:- easy to read LCD screen with good quality backlight- gas levels (H2S, O2, CO, and EX) clearly displayed by default on home screen along with levels- backlight sleeps to save battery life but can be turned to always on- very nice presented in a metal closable latch box- detects a range of gasses including oxygen saturation, carbon monoxide, hydrogen sulphide and EX gasses- lightweight to carry- clips securely to a belt- range of accessories included in the box: charger, cable, and belt clip attachment- clear instruction manual with technical data and safety advice warnings- lithium battery and long battery lifeCons:- handheld device with sensors built into detector rather than probe based (design not really a con)- possibly overkill for domestic use (but reasonably priced compared to high end professional devices)

Needs calibrating by switching on a gas tank, which is hardly possible for a private person
Device looks ok for a handheld apparatus and comes with all accessories in a box. The instructions are in English but translated from Chinese or so, so make little sense at times. In order to use the product, one needs to set the danger limits for all 4 gas types - as a private person I don't know what the limits are supposed to be. Also, the apparatus needs to be calibrated first in fresh air and then while opening the gas of a gas tank; not something I as a private person can or want to do at home. Only then is it properly set up to measure the necessary and warn you - and apparently only for the next 2 years max. Too complicated or rather simply impossible for a private home use in my opinion.
