Readable Introduction to Mindfulness
This evidence-based program describes in succinct fashion a mindfulness program for athletes. It would be applicable to many other populations, including students. The program and mindfulness is described so anyone can understand. As a mental skills and performance consultant, I highly recommend this book (as well as the workshop offered by the authors) to anyone searching for new skills or just for some ways to improve their own lives.

A fantastic guide to mindfulness for sport which is surely the leading text of its kind. Dr. Kaufman and his colleagues provide both rich detail and a comprehensive overview of the growing field of mindfulness in sport - not only from a performance point of view, but also in terms of mindfulness within a school sport setting and within a sport-for-development setting, pointing to the work of organisations such as The True Athlete Project. The well-crafted scripts are a must in the toolkit of any coach looking to help his/her athletes get an edge. Could not recommend highly enough.

Excellent Tool for Coaching!
The MSPE book and program has made a huge impact on my coaching career as well as the experience and performance of my student athletes. I would highly recommend this book to any coach or athlete. It has proven to be a great tool and resource for myself and my team. I have found that implementing mindfulness on and off the field has lead to greater personal and team performances. This book provides great examples and easy ways to incorporate mindfulness into your training routine. The program has been transformative to my coaching approach and has allowed me to better connect with my athletes and produce better results. Anyone interested in learning more about mindfulness and the ways it can benefit athletes and coaches should read this!

GREAT read for anyone involved in sports looking to gain the right mindset and learn about mindfulness! If you have the opportunity, the authors offer an amazing workshop as well. I'm a Psychologist and certified sport consultant and this is a must-have for working with athletes on all levels.

An excellent resource!
An absolutely wonderful resource! The authors provide an incredibly detailed overview of a 6-session mindfulness-based protocol that is rooted in scientific research and identifies 5 performance facilitators to help athletes enhance their performance. It is a wonderful resource for athletes, coaches, personal trainers, sport psychologists, and other professionals who are hoping to help their athletes live in the moment and improve their performance.

Well researched, relevant exercises to bring mindfulness in performance
A well-balanced review of the approach, showing the studies so far and the work that needs to be done to further understand how mindfulness can be applied to performance. There is no sense of cherry-picking the evidence and the book provides a valuable baseine if you're interested in the academic research side. The course itself is fully described in the middle section. Compared to other mindfulness courses (e.g. Search Inside Yourself), there is an emphasis on mindfulness in movement, I found this a useful addition to my current practices. I will be adapting it to dinghy sailing, and I think the book has given all the information needed to achieve this. The book is possibly aimed more at the sport psychologist or team coach, but I found it accessible enough and will likely refer back to it again once I've internalised some of the exercises into my routine.
