GOLDEN has built a name for themselves through a good quality product that is constantly part of the art worlds conversations. I have never seen a review where people are comparing acrylics against one another, and GOLDEN is not mentioned. I don't claim to have seen thousands of reviews but if you are an acrylic artist you owe it to yourself to try GOLDEN if you haven't already. Obviously this review is not just for this gorgeous cadmium red medium hue that I purchased but for GOLDEN overall. I myself own way too much paint but without a doubt the mass majority of what I own is GOLDEN. Their colors are vibrant and the paint is a dream to work with. Don't just take my word for it, try it. Do some research and you will find out that GOLDEN is a go to product for many artists at every level. GOLDEN deserves your attention without a doubt. Some might think of them as pricey but you are buying what I'm sure millions of people consider the best acrylic artist paint on the market. Think about that....

Can't praise Golden Acrylics enough. Now that I've done a few pieces using them I can't go back to student grade or craft paints (for paintings anyway, I still keep a healthy stock for craft projects). I layer over and over again in my pieces, from 20 up to a couple hundred layers of paint, and depending on what color I use Golden paints are as opaque or transparent as I need them to be. Despite the small size of the tubes a little bit really goes a long way. The peaks and texture you can create adds another dimension to the vibrant colors, and there is nearly zero difference between the color of wet and dry paint (unless you add mediums to affect the gloss). This is the set that got me started but I've since expanded with another set with larger tubes and an extra large tube of titanium white. Their mediums have been excellent as well, with the retarder being my most used additive. The paints also turn out beautifully with matte medium.I'm normally a pretty thrifty shopper and the price made me balk at first, but after I was gifted a set of student acrylics of a different brand the difference in quality and versatility was glaringly obvious. When it comes to standalone paintings I can't use anything else. If you need professional level paints or want to exponentially enhance your hobby painting these are your ticket

This product beats my expectations. I thought it was going to be like a low glow but it’s not even in normal room lighting. You’ll still get a nice bright glow. Even though it’s only 4 ounces, it really is enough to have a lot left over because you’re not really using a lot The consistency is really good. It spreads really nice. doesn’t have an odor.

Four and a half stars because I feel like the set could perhaps have been better curated. I was really looking for an intro set that contained the CMY primaries, but they don't seem to sell one that way. It's been ages since I used artist acrylic, and these were a good deal, and I thought I'd try out the RYB(G) set until I could lay hands on other colors. Also, the product description up there is lacking some punctuation. This set includes six paints:1 - Naphthol Red Light2 - Hansa Yellow Medium3 - Ultramarine Blue4 - Permanent Green Light5 - Mars Black6 - Titanium WhiteAll of these paints are transparent except the black (naphthol red is about halfway on the number scale, but it still appears quite transparent to me).Well. I like the paint. The paint is great. It's just that the palette you get from these colors is ... a little dull. They are all pretty, vibrant colors on their own, but I painted a color wheel to test out the mixing, and anything that mixed with the ultramarine (so shades of green and violet) just didn't do it for me, even though the blue itself is lovely. The greens have an olivey tone, and the violets are a bit heavy. I suppose that's why the perm. green was included, but doesn't explain the lack of violet.I'll use them for sure, anyway, I'll just be looking to sooner pick up the CMY palette than if I'd been happier with the mixes I got with this set. I'm not sure what other manufacturers use as their "accepted" set of RYB primaries -- if this is a common one or if there is variance between them. I know Golden has put out a few different sets for different aims: a landscape set, a traditional set, etc. I hoped this one would be well-rounded enough to give me a wide range.TLDR: Great paints. Good deal to try out artist acrylic. Not the greatest gamut by itself.

First time trying this color. It is a deep rich green. Perfect for my darker leaves on landscape and floral paintings.

I made a Resin ball with some of this added in. It works great.

En tant qu'artiste depuis 1996, je peux évaluer la Golden étant d'une Super texture, couvrance impeccable, se travaille bien, brillante, couleurs primaires vives, ne coule pas du tout, légèrement grasse, proche de la texture de la peinture à l'huile. La meilleure sur le marché actuellement, par rapport aux marques standard connues. Je suis satisfaite à mille pourcents, je recommande absolument la Golden pour réaliser un travail artistique de qualité. En conclusion, le Rapport qualité prix est justifié.
