Finger Exercises for Violin, Book One

Great addition to practice!
These are a great addition to practice! I’ll probably end up trying to get all of them. I think they are practical and are the exercises I needed when I was first starting out. The drills in this book do work your left fingers out so if you cramp up easy like I do just start with a couple of lines first. I also have fourth position and third position books for review and those are good as well. I’m very pleased for this series of books. They will add a lot to my practice routine. I was primarily using the Suzuki method but I decided I need more ‘meat’ so to speak and I think it will work well. I use these and Wolfhart etudes and I’m very pleased!

This works for me.
I just received this book. played through some of the excersises, I like it. It will be on the music stand for daily practice. It is useful with out being like so many books. I want something to warm up my fingers and my sight reading. This works with out distracting me from my actual goal. Nothing against the other excersises. This book works for me. That is my priority. Try it if you like. It might work for you also. W. N. L

Good exercise for learning to play violin
I am using the Essential Elements books to learn violin and am enjoying this book as an adjunct to those. You progress through patterns of notes played on one string at a time using all 4 fingers. It's not only good for left hand finger strengthening, but, since you play 4 notes with a long bow, it's good experience bowing, and good for getting the tone right since you work in repeated patterns on each string.

Nice exercises; Arrived a little crunched.
No one like crunched sheet music . . .

Harder than you think.
These are quick 16th notes in succession. At first I thought they would not help but they will develop agility and they are much harder than you think they will be. Good for intermediates but a beginner could do them if they take them at a slow pace.

Beginning workout for finger and music reading
Where have you been when I needed something with a little repetition and broken into pieces for finger patterns and keys. Now I don't have to do it myself.. Love it!

Really good exercise book
I’ve been learning to play the violin for the past few years as a hobby and I’ve been using this book as a great warm up before I start practicing the scales or music that I’m working with my instructor. This book has a variety of rhythm and scales to practice and it has images to help you out. I probably recommend this book for advanced beginners, it’s a really good resource to have.

運指に特化
運指のトレーニングを徹底的に行えるテキストですが、さすがに長時間の練習には飽きが来ます。
