Amazon yet again have delivered, I received these on the same day as I ordered, delivery was by prime and as always very efficient. To the product:-Reason for purchase - My rig has ran out of USB ports and i dont really want to use a r=hub that simply splits the speed when your using more than one device at the same timeThe product comes in a retail cardboard box.It contains:-1 x PCI-E Expansion board2 x Power leads1 x CDThe product feels and looks great. the metal at the back manages to be the same blend of metal as my computer.Really easy to install.Open up your computerFind the slot that looks like the expansion boardFrom your computer case take off the cover that protect the hole where this needs to go.Offer up the board and click it into positionScrew in a screw at the back.hook up the power cables.I'm my case it was plug and play and I didn't need to install anything however the CD does hold the drivers incase it doesn't automaticly pick the device up.All in all a great product.*If you have any questions, then click my profile and drop me a message and I will be happy to help you. Works a treat
Plugged in and works fine. I didn't need to install any drivers (windows 10). I've not checked the speed to be honest so I can't comment on this, but it is definitely faster than the USB 2.0 ports. You get a molex splitter and a SATA power to molex cable with this so you can plug it in with what ever cables you have.If it's not plugged in, I don't know what happens.......it must draw some power from the PCI-e, but maybe that is not enough to drive multiple devices.

Very disappointed!
Bought a USB3 WD Red HD and have two seperate USB3 cables and speed is only slightly faster than USB2.I get very slow speeds with this card. If I transfer a 2GB film from my PC to the drive it starts off a around 45mb/s but soon slows down to no more than 18mb/s.On the plus side I learned how to add a card to my computer
A**.
Cheap but decent addition to my PC.
Bought it because I needed USB 3.0 connection for my PC. It was easy to install and has been working perfectly.

Hmmm...
Hmmm...seems ok with USB flash drives, but it is much, much slower than USB 2 when backing-up to my portable Western Digital USB 3 drive; normally a full backup takes a little under 3 hours, but with this card, after one hour it had only completed 4% ! I find I have to connect it to a powered USB 3 hub and the hub to this card for proper speeds.Maybe I misunderstood, but I thought the power cable to this card from the pc power supply was so that external drives would work? Seems not.UPDATE: 10 January 2018It seems that the power cable supplied with this card was faulty. I decided to give it a final try before returning it and used a spare power cable to power it from the PC's power supply, and voilĂ !It works great now so I've upped the score to 4 stars. Had the problem not occurred it would have been 5.So any other buyers who are having slow transfers, try changing the power cable!
