Colgate Mattress 2-N-1 - Breathable Dual-Firmness Crib Mattress Designed for Infants & Toddlers Featuring Innerspring Unit and Two Cushioning Layers Per Side

We bought and returned two other crib mattresses (one Sealy and the other Simmons) before finally landing on this crib mattress. I had wrongly assumed that Sealy and Simmons, being big name players in the adult mattress world, would have a good crib mattress. Even though the descriptions were labeled as "extra firm" and "inner coils similar to adult mattress," they failed to give the support that an infant requires.This mattress, however, is perfect. It's quite heavy, but it needs to be. It is firm yet has just enough give for the baby's body weight. Very supportive mattress. Isn't flimsy and stays put. It doesn't bend and distort when baby is placed on it like the others I tried.It's the perfect baby mattress that will adapt as the baby grows. Well priced and the best out of the three that we tried. I will buy a second one for my parents' house.

I over-researched crib mattresses to the point I contacted Colgate for assistance (they were very responsive and helpful!). I decided on the 2-N-1 because it meets the coil count recommended by consumer reports, has thicker coils and extra support rods, the high quality foam, AND has the toddler side. This hit all of the points I was looking for and I was pleased with the price on Amazon considering I saw a lesser quality model on sale at Buy Buy Baby for the same cost.

Improved my son’s sleep. He got a cheap foam one with his furniture, and after a couple nights I switched to this one since it’s the same one we have for my daughter—who still uses it at age two. No complaints!

While baby has not yet arrived, I am very pleased with my observations of this mattress. The outer part of the mattress is waterproof without being "crunchy" sounding when pushing on it. The mattress itself seems firm without feeling like a plank of wood. The dual sides are labeled with arrows, which is very helpful. It fits well into our 'old' crib (used 30+ years ago for my husband and his sister!). There was no weird or overwhelming smell other than the faint smell of the plastic in which it was packaged. This was the only mattress that I looked at (and I looked at MANY) that actually showed the gauge of the coils, which I learned is more important than just the number of coils. I am looking forward to this lasting for hopefully more than one child (we're on our first). If I remember, I will add an updated comment once Baby has arrived and begun using the mattress.I did have an issue with the delivery of the first mattress I ordered. The mattress arrived within the time frame, however, the box was busted open when it arrived. Upon removing the mattress from the box, I discovered that a corner of the plastic covering had been ripped open and the mattress corner was chewed up and dirty. It appeared that the mattress has come out of the box and was perhaps dragged on the cement producing the damage. I called and spoke on the phone with an Amazon customer service rep right away. She was VERY friendly and helpful. She apologized multiple times for the inconvenience and even made sure I wasn't going to be the one hefting around the old mattress to return it (being 8 months pregnant!). Within 10 minutes of calling, I received a printable label to return the damaged product AND the new mattress was shipped before the end of the day. We received the new mattress 2 days later in perfect condition. I was very pleased with the customer service I received. If you have any trouble, I would recommend calling and speaking with a representative instead of just returning the product via the website.

Very good mattress. No complains. Purchased for a 6mo old. The mattress is not too heavy to change sheets. It definitely not lightweight. Good firmness support. It had a little of the gassy feeling at the beginning but was gone in a day.

I bought this after consulting with Buy Buy Baby (more expensive) Amazon had a better price. I had the mattress one day out of package and felt it my son laid on it for a few minutes and then refused to get back on. Returned. I do NOT recommend this mattress.

I purchased this mattress for my first child in 2015, and he STILL SLEEPS ON IT. His mattress is heavy weight and extremely sturdy, withstanding hours upon hours of toddler gymnastics. A quality 2 in 1 mattress. Now, because his mattress is that awesome, I purchased it again for my newest child this year (2019). For whatever reason, her mattress is lighter weight and bows/dips slightly in the middle. Also, the waterproof cover is not stretched taught. I am disappointed in this mattress the second time around. I understand that product designs often change over the years to accommodate new technology, various improvements, etc., but the mattress I received this year is NOT of the same quality as the one purchased in 2015. Disappointing.

The mattress fits snugly in the crib as recommended. I like the 2 different firmness "sides". The baby side is very firm, which is what I wanted. You get what you pay for and this mattress seems definitely worth the price. :-)
