Our family has been fishing The Outer Banks for years but now I feel like I have a secret in my tackle box. Tons of great information in this book that we can't wait to use.

Very informative especially for the novice.

It's a well written book. Back when Mr. Ulanski wrote the this book there were plenty of fish to catch on the Outer Banks. I have a home there. Been fishing there since early 1980's. Sometime after the Vietnam war our government sold a lot of sonar equipment to commercial fisherman. As NC laws are so lax, commercial fisherman are taking 98% of fish. Leaves 2% for sport fisherman. It would be a great book back in the 1970 s thru approximately 1987

Although I haven't yet read this book word by word, I have perused it and read specific parts I am particularly interested in and have found it to be a most excellent source of saltwater/surfcasting information. I relied on Amazon reviews to make this purchase, as I typically do, and once again I appear to have been guided well. Many thanks one and all!

I have really enjoyed reading this book and it has definitely been a valuable resource when fishing on the coast of NC. The only problem is that some of the info in the book is a little outdated, but for a guide on how to catch fish on the coast of NC it is second to none!

Purchased this book a week before going on a fishing vacation to NC Outer Banks and found it useful. Had some success with catching several species of fish thanks to the authors advice. His description of beach access points and types of bait were helpful.

Going to OBX for the first time in over 30 years. Apparently, I will be a fishing widow on the beach alone! Husband loves this book, and has "a plan" to finally reel in "the big one." Will update later as to which supermarket has the best seafood department, LOL
