Dinky little pot. Love it
I have a few Bodum cafetières. They’re larger and sometimes I want a single serving of fresh pressed coffee. This little pot really hits that’s pot. It’s the quality I’d expect from Bodum. The plastic frame is sturdy and good quality. I bought a red one and it’s vibrant and bright. The filter parts are all metal and can be dismantled for cleaning. Some cheaper Models have interior parts that are plastic and they don’t fit as well, so the extra cost for a a Bodum is a good investment. I find that even used numbers of times in a day, they last for years. I machine wash mine and only have to dismantle the filter once or twice a year. I use a coarse ground coffee for this press and it find grains don’t get trapped between the layers. It’s supplied with a plastic measure and instructions for use if you’re unsure of quantity and how long to leave the coffee. This size makes one mug or two small cups so ideal size for a couple of different uses. Quality product, presented in a nice box so it would make an ideal gift. Love it.

Quality product, but not 3 cup!
As with all cafetieres that I've bought in the past the advertised amount of cups is never accurate, this one will do one cup at a time. Good quality materials, feels very solid so should hold up well over time.

Nice little coffee pot
I decided to leave this a few months before I rated it, to ensure that it's sturdy enough. As it's a bit of a "fashion" (albeit at the cheap end) item and these aren't always known for their longevity it seemed sensible.>> Ok, so the good - It works perfectly, utterly functional. After a few months the metal filter is still sufficient to properly filter even the very fine ground coffee that lines the shelves of supermarkets.Obviously the coarser the grounds, the easier it filters, but even the cheap stuff (Tescos value! :P) works fine. When you open it, the glass jug has a red Bodum sticker affixed (not in the photo) with safety instructions, pyrex logo etc.., which unless you deliberately peel it off will stay firmly affixed after months of use and washing.I've found that this actually doubles-up as a handy guide so you can pour your hot water at a glance, and you quickly figure out that for 2x cups you pour to "this" line, and for 3x, "that" line, etc..Seems silly but bleary-eyed in the morning it helps almost as much as the lines on a measuring-jug.The plunger mechanism is basically plastic, hard enough wearing but don't just ram it down because it would be possible to cause wear if you're particularly careless, since the metal rod pushes down through the plastic lid. Then again, if you plunge too hard & fast, or at an angle on one of these, you end up with gritty coffee so just by using it properly you won't be riding it too hard.>> The bad. The pyrex jug is pretty thin - I've accidentally clonked it against the kitchen tap a few times while washing, but I have no doubt it would smash were I to drop it on a hard floor. So too, the thin glass means that if you make yourself 2x cups, the coffee will remain hot inside the jug just long enough to drink the first one in a reasonable time & allow you to drink the second, but it won't keep hot in the jug for longer than say, 20 minutes without some kind of insulating cosy. Also, the plastic frame that surrounds the jug is very hard bordering on impossible to remove. Unless I broke the jug I'd never risk taking the green frame off lest I accidentally break the glass, so this means that after a while you end up with little bits of coffee stuck between the plastic and the glass. Not enough to look bad, and not at all unsanitary, but it just irks slightly that it appears to be removable, but is fitted so tight you daren't remove it.To be honest though, that's such a minor issue as to be not worth worrying about, I include it just so anyone looking at this pot knows not to expect to be popping the glass out.All in all, a very nice little pot, I use it at least daily and normally I just give it a rinse with hot water between uses & let it drip-dry.

Really nice product
So after a holiday, I decided that I would move away from my normal coffee making machine to a cafetière Did a bit of research and decided to buy this one. I’ve been really pleased with it and I’m using it every morning. Very easy to use keeps the coffee warm although it’s not meant to so it’s okay for at least 20 or 30 minutes and easy to clean so very happy and well worth the cost.

Makes a lovely cup of joe
I bought the 3 cup model, at a discount due to its "used - acceptable" condition. Happily, although the packaging was damaged as expected, I can find no evidence of either use or cosmetic damage to the coffee maker so it was a great buy at £4 less than the headline price. Based on this I'd recommend looking at more of Amazon's used offers, if damaged boxes aren't an issue when you're buying kitchenware. As for the product itself, it makes a lovely, single mug's worth of coffee (I top up with the smallest amount of water after plunging) and the cut-out on the lid is a nice addition, fitting into the handle plastic and stopping it rotating as you plunge. The plunger has a firm, even action. You don't feel as if it's going down crooked, provided you use even, steady pressure.

Makes great coffee
I bought this for my son for Christmas as it was on the list of items that I asked him to give me to help me choose what to buy him for Christmas. We used to own one of these and used it all the time. This is a really great item and so handy for making a few cups of coffee at a time. The Bodum brand is well known and it is a solidly made good quality product. The one I bought is black but it is available in 4 colours. We use medium ground coffee but you can use different types in this press. The glass seems quite flimsy but our previous one never broke but it is best to wash gently by hand in the sink rather than putting it in the dishwasher.I will update this review if there is any change but it seems exactly the same as the previous one we had.

It's beige !
It does the job as you would expect from Boden - well. Also is sturdy and well made. But the screen picture shows a pure white, which is misleading. And I would call it light beige rather than 'off white'.Somehow a few grounds have become stuck in between the glass and the casing during washing up but I can't easily get the glass out. So the sleek, clean look I was after has gone. The off-white never looks smart I feel.To be honest I was already losing patience with all the mess involved when making a good coffee ....I have to say it tipped me over the edge .... I bought a coffee machine - Its fabulous!
