Superb product.
This is a well made, beautifully packaged and presented piece of hardware and is ideal as a replacement sound card, audio interface, mic pre-amp, keyboard or guitar input, and very low latency sound source for use with digital recording software like Cubase, Sibelius, Reaper, Ableton, pro-tools etc. The build quality is very solid. The controls, inputs and outputs are clearly labelled and easy to use.Everything from the box, instructions, online registration, to downloading of drivers and addon freeware and demo ware, is an object lesson in clarity and ease. After registering and the downloading the drivers all you have to do is connect and away you go. The condenser mic input even has phantom power which runs fine on a standard usb or usb connection.I have not used this long enough yet to comment on long-term reliabilty but there is nothing to suggest anything will go wrong. It is very rare to receive such an accomplished and superbly built package at this low price. The specifications exceed many far more expensive audio interfaces. Just as a decent card that is far superior to any onboard Realtek-type audio output and many more expensive, your computer sound will be crisper and of a higher quality, let alone all the added functionality described above. This is an outstanding product.Update: If you are having problems getting the Focusrite driver to install when starting windows, try plugging the USB connection into a USB 2 port, not USB 3. On my system it does not like USB 3. Secondly, if you are getting pops or audio glitches, go to your windows device manager and open all the USB hubs. Set them NOT to shut down after inactivity, and set your power options in windows never to shut down. While you are working with the audio interface, if possible go offline and shut down your antivirus. Lastly, if working on a Laptop, disconnect the charger. All the above could be a cause of audio glitches.

Focusrite delivers focused sound and tight quality tone replication. (with demo)
I love the Focusrite. What inspired me to buy it was when I was on YouTube, I saw Periphery's "Bulb Mansoor" I think his name is, he was showing what he was doing with it which I found to be impressive and more streamlined compared to a physical setup. The tone he was getting through some software would take a whole bunch of pedals to replicate which is extra cost and space, My room is fairly modest size and i didn't want to fork out on another amp of equal value, for £80 you will not get a decent stand alone amp or tone . What's more is this thing increases music versatility allowing you to record practice sessions for free and it's not noisy for the neighbors either, you also get a clean replication of the signal, it seems to me a much more authentic way to record than relying on mobile phone which I have done in the past there's a huge array of reasons to own one, I love portable setups, I'm thinking of taking the focusrite and my laptop to a studio for practice session so i can record the sound, film as i am doing it obviously but have the edited pre amp audio over the visual.I was surprised to find that it does respond well to external pedals before input, there is also the benefit of repeating guitar lines so you can reduce error rate, when timed properly no one questions it, the riffs are seamless.. of course if you were playing live you would play in real time and not mime. I'm not a fan of miming at all but when i've done youtube video's I found myself recording the visual separately to give people something to look at (it is a video after all!). I bought the Focusrite for the microphone input too, not just my guitar, I plan on doing some vlogging I just need to save for a microphone and the necessary lead because again, phone microphone is not as clear sounding as a proper mic like a Shure SM58 my go-to choice at the moment. I really want to be able to afford pro tools and fl studio because I know this is made with Digital Audio Workstations (DAW's) in mind. I also wanted the Mic function specifically so I can make use of Skype and tie this in with my youtube so i can interact with (any) fans or friends. As far as functionality I mean it's spot on, It does exactly what you expect. I'm all for making better use out of my laptop. But you can do a lot with just Audacity setting this up as default sound device, i'm a very musical person so when I have established how to use a DAW and afford one, I look forward to making some great music and great speeches. very good sound replication, no feedback or crackling from poor quality, what you put in is what you get out, makes recording guitar/voice easierI've included a clip of me playing short clip on my favoured Ibanez M80M using just a Digitech Metal Master before going into focusrite then into the pc recording on audacity, find it hereclyp (dot) it (slash) vqzr1kbe

Was a good interface till it broke with 8 months of average use.
2nd Edit: After Finally getting to the Focusrite Support staff they were wonderful and stayed with me for the 5 hours it took to fix the issue, I'm leaving the past negitive paragraph in for context but support was wonderful. my only slight dissapointment was the time it took to get to support but that's due to weekend's and my working hours so that's not really focusrite's faultEdit: Unfortunately I'm here having to edit my review of this interface. when it works it's great... unfortunately in the process of about 6 hours my interface has gone from working perfectly fine to not working at all instead i get a infernal buzzing sound and no audio from my computer. don't worry I've tired different USB ports, headphones, 2.5mm adapters cables... but nothing, honestly It's a shame cause I liked it but I also don't expect something that cost £100 to break with 8 months of frankly standard useOriginal: At the end of the day your getting a focusrite audio interface. their good quality, decent price and will work completely fine. this Scarlett solo is no different, with that said considering you can jump up to the 2i2 for around £20-30... it makes the lack of flexibility in the solo more of an issue for me. at the end of the day however it is a small audio interface that as you would expect gives a clean audio signal(tested on Sennhiser 280 pro's and the Beyerdynamics DT 770's) and has direct monitor and phantom power. To finish off I would really recommend that you just jump up to the 2i2 for the £20-30 it's worth but the solo itself is not a bad interface by any means.

Excelente calidad

Great device for gamers/streamers
So I bought this and I'm pairing it with my Audio Technica AT2020. It provides the 48v phantom power needed to run the microphone and works very well. I plug in audio from my gaming PC using a 3.5mm(sound card side) to 1/4' (Scarlett side) cable and it works great. Then I plug the unit into my streaming laptop via USB and plug in my Sennheiser HD579 headset with 1/4 connection to the monitor output on the Solo. It's a great setup and the mic sounds great using this "preamp". Before I had a Pyle Mixer and it sucked compared to this. All I wanted was a way to have my game audio and mic audio piped into one unit, and then be able to control the volume of my headset without having to minimize my game. This provided just that. I highly recommend this if you stream on Twitch or Youtube. Also, I dabble in music creation with Reason 10 and this gets recognized by the software and my mic sounds great when recording vocal tracks for music. 5 stars all the way!!Update 1/5/2020: This Audio Interface is still going strong and working very well for me. I mainly use it to get audio from my Pioneer DDJ-SX2 DJ controller into my computer to stream on Twitch or Cue.dj and it gets that job done flawlessly. I can connect turntables to my SX2 and record vinyl to MP3 using Audacity or Reason 11 Intro and it works perfectly fine and sounds great. Still recommend this Audio Interface.
