Does this actually helps eyelashes grow, or is the effect due to using it as a primer before mascara?

I had a bald patch in my eyelashes & lookex a mess when i pit mascara on. Bought the serum & within a week are so i have really thick long lashes again. I also dont have to curl my lashes anymore. Have a go , i also use it as a primer. Great product. Hope this helps youx

Can i wear this alone without another coat of mascara or does it go on white?
