I bought this Air Purifier after reading reviews of it on Amazon and online. It looks good, lovely clean white. Easy to move around, not heavy. I noticed a difference in the air quality within a couple of hours of first switching it on. It was very easy to fit the filters (2), they were already in place but needed to be taken out to remove them from their plastic bags then put back in, took about a minute. It has 3 stage filtration, Sponge, HEPA & Carbon. The filters do need to be replaced in this Air Purifier, so will need to buy these in future. Controls from left to right: On/Off Ioniser on/off Levels: high/ medium/ sleep When you first switch it on it starts on medium level, after that it remembers the setting it was on when switched off and starts on that one. Timer: 1/2/4/8 hours There are indicator icons which light up above each control button that let you know which option(s) are selected. I have found the Air Purifier to be extremely effective both in removing odours ( 2 dogs in house who love getting wet on walks!) and air quality. I was always coughing and sneezing after the log burner was on or opened to add logs, this has been totally eliminated. I have added a wee video and some photos. You’ll be able to hear the different levels as I switch through them. On sleep level it is very quiet. I would recommend this product. It’s an excellent price point for such effective air purification.

So I recently found out the newly acquired intense hacking is a kind of seasonal allergy. It seems to be nocturnal and every night I wheeze and cough, getting almost no sleep. Hence the reason for buying this. The double HEPA/carbon filter, sleep mode and 2 year guarantee were big selling points. I've used this for two weeks and I turn it on a half hour before going to bed. I make sure doors and windows are shut and have it in 'night mode'. I usually use it with the ioniser option on, to help purify the air. So it definitely has reduced my wheezing and coughing. The air feels cleaner and purer. But the noise.. this is not a quiet machine. I like white noise and have used an ioniser before, but this is much louder. I also found that setting the timer resulted in it waking me up when it bleeped loudly whilst turning itself off. (Why bleep?!) I was woken every single time. I now leave the timer off and it just runs all night. It has definitely helped my breathing and allows me to get much-needed sleep. But it certainly makes itself known..! Would recommend if you're not looking for a super quiet machine.. and if you're not expecting it to subtly knock itself off through the night. It is effective. My symptoms were extreme and relentless and it has absolutely helped me.

Seems to be doing the job. My eyes do not water as much in a morning and they are less puffy. Still have random sneezing bit not as much (I have bad allergies). Fairly quiet on sleep mode...I tend to have this mode on all day. Easy to set up

Edit: Nearly 2 years later, with daily use, my air purifier is still working really well. I change the filters every 4-6 months. I no longer need sinus treatments , and antihistamines and inhaler only at peak pollen times of the year. Still highly recommended; has been a health game-changer for me. ——————————————————- I’ve had mine a month now, but noticed an improvement on the very first night I used it. I suffer with seasonal allergies that cause allergic asthma, requiring a recovery inhaler. I suspect house dust also affects me, particularly in my bedroom, despite thorough vacuuming and anti-allergen bedding. I would cough for a couple of hours when I laid down, whistle when I breathed and frequently needed my recovery inhaler before bed. I had to start the day with antihistamines as would start coughing as soon as I woke up. My sinuses were also always painful, I often had cold symptoms and I would often wake up in the night, coughing. The first night I used the air purifier, I noticed an immediate reduction in coughing. I don’t think with allergies you can really attribute that to a placibo effect. It has worked consistently since purchase, and on some days I don’t need antihistamines until I go out. I haven’t needed my sinus spray at all for the last couple of weeks. I use it before bed, and start it in the morning as I get up and get ready. It has made a huge different to both my health and my sleep quality. There are a few useful features: the sleep mode is acceptably quiet, producing a restful hum like white noise. The timer means you can set it to 1/2/4/8 hours and it reliably switches itself off. There is a negative ion function and different strengths of air flow. The only two criticisms I have of it are that it blows cool air, which is very pleasant in the warm weather but might need the unit to be positioned further away in the winter. Also, that the timer switches the appliance off with a beep, which might disturb very light sleepers. Unlike older reviews, the replacement filters are available and were easily purchased from the Silentnight Amazon store. Their price is acceptable for 6 months of use, making this a cost-effective way for allergy sufferers to improve their health, in my opinion. Based on my own experiences, I would highly recommend this product, and have in fact already recommended it to family members with seasonal allergies. It’s a fair price, has really worked for me and I would not hesitate buy it again should this one wear out.

Noisy even on the sleep mode, haven't really noticed any change in the air condition and not what I hoped it would be. But. On the plus side. When the weather gets warmer it's going to be a great fan in the living room. Too loud for overnight in the bedroom but fine for larger rooms. (If you're not trying to watch the television)...

I have had to rely on nasal sprays every night so that I could sleep undisturbed and again periodically during the day to ease nasal congestion, which has bothered 24/7, 365 days a year. I am in my mid-70's and have had this problem all my life. My wife also suffers from headaches brought on by Sinus pressure. The Amazon price was the lowest anywhere at £39.99 and £8.72 for a set of replacement filters. We ordered two of these Air Purifiers, one for the bedroom and one for the living room plus four sets of filters for £114 with free shipping, These are also the Cheapest filters anywhere. Other makes have very expensive Replacement Filters, and was delivered in four days to Northern Ireland by Royal Mail. We set the one in the bedroom and it worked perfectly. It was the first night that I slept right through without being disturbed by congestion or coughing as the congestion makes you breathe through your mouth which dries up your throat making you cough. No need for the Nasal spray either. My wife also had a great nights sleep and no headaches either, Brilliant. The second unit was set up in the living room and again 'No headaches or congestion. all day, Fantastic. I have seen reviews where people have said that they could not get filters, No 24 hour setting etc. If they had read the manual, they would have noticed that when you switch it on, it automatically goes into Medium speed and 24 hour mode, pressing the Speed button steps up to Full speed. Pressing it again takes you to the quieter Low Speed (Sleep mode - the face with the Zs lights up). You ONLY need to use the Timer buttons, if you wish to have the unit to switch off at a pre-determined time. We keep the Ionizer ON all of the time. Also please remember to take the filters out of the sealed plastic bags, then fit the Black Charcoal filter FIRST with the tabs visible making it easier to remove, next fit the combined HEPA & Sponge filter next, again with the Sponge and the tabs visible. Just an Update, It is now November and we have not had any nasal problems or migraines since using these units (no medication required at all). We keep them on the LOW (Sleep) mode with the Ionizer on during the day in the living room and at night in the bedroom. I have just bought another for my wife's New Crafting Workshop. I don't really need an air purifier but thought it might be useful to have one in case a guest need better air. First problem, how to choose as there are so many on Amazon with differing reviews. I first chose a round pattern purifier. It had an annoying hum so I returned it. By this time I had noted that replacement filters were expensive and sometimes not yet available. I then chose a "no filter required" purifier but the flow was so poor that it could hardly move a piece of toilet tissue. I returned it. Then with one day to go on my Prime delivery membership I tried again. On paper the Silentnight had a few things going for it. I noted that replacement filters were available and reasonably priced. I noted that the filtered air exited to the front and not to the top like others. This means the filtered air can be directed to where it is wanted. From the product description I couldn't tell how quiet (or noisy) it would be but there are no hums, rattles or resonances. Just a gentle whirr in sleep mode, a little louder in medium and high. I like that ionisation can be set on or off since not everybody reacts the same. There is a useful timer. The mains lead could do with being 0.5m longer. Taking account of the relative price point and price of replacement filters this is a good first air-purifier. At the price it is well worth having just in case.

Also wir haben in ihm Treppenhaus stehen wegen den Arbeitsschuhen.... Ich würde es aber auch ins Schlafzimmer stellen. Persönlich finde ich das Gerät sehr leise und angenehm. Der Geruch war auch nach 30Min ca weg. Ich hatte gelesen, dass eine andere Person einen Stecker aus UK hatte. Das war bei uns nicht der Fall. Leider ist die Anleitung etwas dürftig aber man findet auch was auf Youtube.

IV been using this for sometime and find it helpful,only put it on earlier before going to bed,it's reasonable quiet but hubby doesn't like anything running in the background when he hits the sack.
