The material and padding are 1st class, best head/neck upright coushion I've used yet.It does take up nearly half the space of an average small backpack, but this factor is offset by the comfort levels when used.The material of the cover is very soft and pleasent.The instructions are designed to a most excellent asthetic level, in terms of printed instructional graphic design.The product USP (best feature) is that it seems to eliminate all noise, drafts and road vibrations on the side of the head that is used on (for me this is a bus on early commute). bumps on the road really aren't noticed at all.The labels says it's 40oC machine washable (cover), and can also be tumble dried at low temps (see my photos for the wash guide label).Another feature is a snap button for attaching to backpack if desired.For use: It takes a little bit of positioning to get the best position, usually the back part (same size as front part), can be too prominent against a back headrest or seat, but again this can be wiggled up/down to ideal location.The thinner arm goes under the chin, which is a good idea to prevent the head nodding down. Note: if you have any swollen glands (e.g. from a cold/flu) or sore tooth, this may not suit. But for 98% of the time it's good.It's a tad pricey, but it's a world away from the cheaper versions and this is generally a case of paying extra, for extra quality. Would rate this as 4.5* overall.

Bought this for 12 hour flight, it was okay and comfy but only great when used as a pillow leaning against something. No better than standard neck pillow if sat in a middle or isle seat which you can pick up a lot cheaper.

I wear over-ear noise cancelling headphones most of the time when flying. I stupidly didn't think about that when I chose to purchase the J-pillow - when used with over-ear headphones, one side of the headphones is trapped between my head and the pillow, which meant that I just couldn't get comfortable. I've also found that the seat needs to be at least a little bit reclined for me to feel comfortable. (I was recently on a short-haul budget airline flight where the seats didn't recline at all, and it wasn't working for me.) Also, because you're leaning a little to the side when using this pillow, I found that the pillow slides along the seat a bit on leatherette-type seats - I ended up bumping into the person next to me on my last flight. However, when you get all the factors right (no headphones and a reclined, fabric-covered seat), it is wonderfully comfortable, and I will be happily using this on an upcoming long-haul flight.

Never really got on with the traditional shape travel pillows then found this. It's brilliant (if looks a little funny, but who cares!). I used it on long train journey recently and found it very comfortable and supportive. Stuffs compactly into a carry bag which fit into my backpack nicely - not bulky. Would definitely recommend and would not hesitate to buy again.

So good! Changed the long haul flight for me I usually take ages to get comfy and drift off but travelling with a baby this time means I HAD to have sleep whenever baby did. Holds your face and takes that nodding off pressure from sat up sleeping. On the way there I had packed it in my hand luggage and it was quite bulky but I saw other passengers at the airport with theirs clipped on to their carryon bag straps so I did that for the way back. And much more hygienic to have its own cover as well as a lot of neck pillows don’t and have to go through security belts etc all exposed then you put your face on them! I’ll be recommending to anyone who flies long haul.

Supports your neck from the side as well as below, much comfier than a regular travel cushion. Does need a little playing with to get the position right; I find it's better with your ear on one arm and the other behind your neck, rather than with your ear in the centre as the instructions suggest.

I've tried for the last hour to find a comfortable position with this new pillow, and I had to give up. I would have loved to return this but unfortunately I've just left for a 6 week holiday.The part that goes behind your neck is much to thick so it push my head forward.The j part under your chin kept my mouth tightly closed which for me made it hard to breathe because I had a cold. But even without a cold I still felt it uncomfortable.The fabric was very soft but too smooth so the pillow kept sliding around so I couldn't rest my head.The whole pillow is a bit bulgy for traveling.On a very positive note: the filling was super comfortable. It didn't heat up like memory foam and was very soft.

I've had this pillow since February and use it every night while reading, watching TV or using my laptop, and take it with me everywhere I travel. This is the most versatile pillow I have ever owned and I've tried many. I love that I can wash it as often as I do and it comes out soft and comfy just like new every time! Can't wait to give as Christmas gifts!! I might even have to get an extra one for my Jack! She does let me use it when I ask nicely.
