Amazon Basics Portable Photo Studio

I have one of those light boxes with the pole frame; within a month of using it i felt really sick of unrolling it all ; repackaging, finding it wouldnt go back in and messing around with the backdrops...by time id put it together id lost interest in any photography.Saw this one ; a pop up one and it literally is as easy as all the reviews say it is to use and assemble; its handy to be folded up and stored . The lights are ok but i always use a handheld light too for my photos its just a shame that it isnt a fraction bigger

Having spent hours looking at reviews and different light boxes, this one came recommended by a friend.I needed something to photograph hand made products to sell online. So needed something that wasnt going to be big to store but give me the power and lights to give good imagines.Not disappointed at all. Although a little pricy for what I was looking for.It is easy to put up (although does take a couple of tries to put it back down and store!) Once you get used to the order things fold down into, you look back and laugh at yourself for finding it tricky.The lights are powerful, and there are openings at the top and side in the middle.You are restricted on positioning of the camera there is only one hole in the centre at the top, and on the side panel three flaps that give you a stripe down the middle of the panel.If you try and photograph items from a different angle with the side flap up - you do get an issue with the light.Its a niggly little thing, but when you are paying this much for a light box, those are the little things that wonder why you spent so much money.The white inside sheet, doesnt go all the way to the side edges, so you loose some areas to photograph with dark spots on the side. It is also stiff and the edges can curl up if you dont fold it away correctly. I dont have the biggest house, and ideally you would leave the light box open rather then folding it away each time after use.Over all impressed, certainly does what it says. I can even use it with my mobile phone and still get good results.

The media could not be loaded.  The Amazon portable photo studio has been designed for those looking to get nice clean images of items.It arrives in its collapsed configuration, it's flat and has a carry handle allowing you to move this around and store it easily.It's nicely designed to store the LED power pack in top section, so when this is collapsed you won't have a power pack to also carry around separately.When you're ready to shoot some shots this only takes a few moments to set up. It expands upwards to create a good sized cavity space.It comes with a white backdrop which drops down from it's storage position.There are 4 positions to shoot photos from, 3 on the front and one looking down from the top.The manual does a good job of showing how to expand and collapse this but doesn't give much help when it comes to shooting photos.Although the LED lights are nice and bright you're going to need to experiment with your camera settings to get the best shots.Using the automatic settings produced a reasonable photo but the background crease (caused by it being folded when in storage) was clearly visible. If this is a problem for you you'll need to experiment with the manual settings, in particular the white balance.This can lead to much better results, unless you're taking photos of very light objects in which case they can then be washed out with adjustments to your camera settings.Overall this is a really well thought out product that will allow you to photograph items as small as jewellery or as large as a games console.It would be even better if it came with a dark background as well as the white one, but this is something a DIY bodge with some dark fabric might be able to address.

I wanted one that I didn’t have to assemble with pipes like the other ones available. This seemed easy and perfect as I only use it every now and again. It is definitely easy to assemble, theoretically. Definitely quicker than the pipes but it is a little awkward to unfold/put back together (don’t quite know where which flap goes etc, a bit of a fumble every time I unfold it. but not a deal breaker by all means.I’m a little disappointed with the way the light is laid out inside, it does cause slight shadowing towards the back. My husband says I should be easily able to install another light ourselves with some command strips (or Something similar) which is fine but would have preferred if it came with an extra light at the back right hand side. If you’re good at editing (I’m not) then it might not be a big deal for you. But pictures kind of show what I’m about.It’s very large, I can fit a large 3 tier cake easily (also managed to squeeze in my 3 year old, sat down) 👌🙏 consequently, you need a good space to store it, although it does store flat so not a big deal. I keep it under my bed.Backdrop is fine. Little bit crumbly. Wish there was other colours but white is fine. Easy to edit out the fold at the back and I’m terrible at editing.Excellent holes for shooting, I wouldn’t recommend shooting with the birds eye view with a phone as it’s so tall, I always need to zoom which lowers picture quality.Worth the price, i am generally happy with it, I would buy again and recommend it to others but would warn about the light issue.

This is well made, easy to open / assemble and large enough to get all sorts of things in it. It’s probably great for average public advertising things online but for a pro trying to photograph a product then this is nowhere near bright enough unless you shot it on a tripod with a long exposure. I got it hoping to use it for jewellery but found it way easier in my white bath with overhead flash and a layer of white diffusion
