Hasbro Gaming Get a Grip Game

I purchased this game as a Christmas gift. When it arrived the box had big scratches on it like the person who originally unpacked it at amazon had been a little overzealous with a box cutter, but the present was for my brother who isn’t too fussed about that kind of thing. When we got the game out to play over the holiday I did wish that I’d sent it back.The idea of the game is quite interesting- perform tasks without using your thumbs. I thought it would be the big game for Christmas, like speak out was last year, but I think the idea hasn’t been excecuted well.The game comes with: four thumb wraps, two pots of dough and two pads of paper. We were surprised that there was no game board, although it isn’t stated on the box.The wraps for your thumbs aren’t very good as you can quite easily escape from them. It happened a few times unintentionally during tasks which was frustrating. We also found it quite easy to adapt to a lot of the tasks without using thumbs- sculpting sausages and balls can be done using the table and the flat of your hand so this wasn’t a challenge.To me the most annoying part of the game was the fact that many of the tasks involve equipment that isn’t provided. The first is a timer. I know this is available on most phones these days but it was difficult to set the time when my thumbs weren’t available (this was actually more of a challenge than some of the tasks themselves!). Next were pencils. For a game with such a high rrp you would think that they could include some small pencils like those found in Ikea. This two items are inexpensive essentials that should be in the box.Finally, a big chunk of the tasks need other items eg. Pillows and cases, hair bands, buttoned shirts. When my family played the game we were at a house where some of this wasn’t available, and faffing around looking for these really ruined the flow of the game. We skipped out the questions that needed anything extra, but there aren’t many cards with this game and in the half hour that we played get a grip we nearly used all of the other cards.I think that even with amazons heavy discount this game is overpriced and it is likely that my family will not play it again. If you are looking for a fun game for the whole family there are plenty more to choose from, which will have greater longevity!

I was looking for something new and different and i came across this!!! Seemed interesting and i glad i made the purchase!!! good to play with friends and family and who knew that getting rid of your thumb could be so difficult!! to draw or make something out of play dough haha!! especially on a timer!

I bought this as a cheap little stocking filler, turns out its actually pretty good!Fun family game, we had a laugh trying to do some of the challenges! Great for both kids and adults!

Have brought this game for xmas so hope it will be good

As a family we had a great time with this game. Only complaint is we needed more bands so more could get involved but we are a large family. Bought as a Christmas gift it was very well received by 11yr old who got it but being honest think the adults had more fun. Obviously comes with ideas such a dough for moulding etc but with a little imagination you can add you own games which the kids loved. Hours of entertainment with this for all ages. Arrived on time and well packaged. Would recommend

Haven't played this yet (dying to) but arrived quickly, everything looks good. Now just to plan ahead far enough to play this game...Bought in black Friday deals way cheaper then I've seen in shops.

It's fairly amusing, and does allow for small children to take part. There are a *lot* of cards that require extra items - like a button down shirt, or hair ties. We took this game to a party where those items weren't available, so it isn't the most playable of games.

Quite a fun game for everyone, different levels for different ages, goddaughter for game night, played quite a lot and still looks and works well.
