Fantastic device

As an eReader it's O.K. but the whole point of Android OS is that you can choose your reading and file management apps.The product description actually says:Truly Open. Unlike other ebook readers, inkBOOK is not locked to only one retailer. It lets you install third-party applications so you can access as many bookstores as you like. YOU CAN'T. You can only install the handful of apps available via links on the device. None of them are reading or file management apps.apart from Kindle and Kobo You cannot sideload apps either as the built in file manager won't allow it. Or at least it needs an expert to do it if it is possible. I cannot find any website which gives instructions on how to do it without "Rooting the device" Whatever that is. I bet it invalidates the warranty whatever it is.Google Play store cannot be installed, or any other Google Android app for that matterAs an eReader it's O.K. and build quality seems fine but the Kindle paperwhite is way cheaper, has a massive library and a much better reading app out of the box.

Potential to be an excellent e-reader, with pre-loaded reader appearing efficient, clean screen, refresh and book loading. Operating system is basic, still in development: Filemanager (essential really) crashes, doesn't allow any sideloading as a result, with no hard reset, only data wipe through settings menu, Arta Tech suggested reflashing the entire software requiring use of PC/Windows to reset. Would improve with more RAM. Returned as I have neither PC/Win, nor patience for what should be a finished product at a reasonable price. Note English and Eastern European languages, no problem, but store is very limited, and apk's need to be sideloaded for installation.Really wanted this to work.

I like the idea of shop independent e-readers, so I have tested some of them before purchasing one. the inkbook prime is a sleek looking device but has a major drawback: it's screen. There is a lot of ghosting, even with the refresh option on the most frequent setting. Led front light inhomogeneously lights the surface, especially at the upper and lower screen edges. Colour temperature to cold for my taste

Lo consiglio vivamente, uno degli acquisti più azzeccati che abbia mai fatto. Il sistema Android lo rende veloce e funzionale e si possono scaricare diverse applicazioni, anche se a mio avviso non servono affatto. L'app di PlayBook non è tra queste, ma non mi sembra un grosso problema; servirebbe comunque una connessione Wi-Fi per utilizzarla e se proprio si vuole si può sempre accedere alla piattaforma utilizzando internet! Insomma, se volete tutte le funzionalità di un Tablet, comprate un Tablet non un e-reader xDOltre al Wi-Fi avete a disposizione anche la connessione Bluetooth! Collegate l'e-reader ad uno speaker portatile ed ascoltate la vostra musica preferita mentre leggete un buon libro.Insomma....Io lo adoro!

Il s'agit d'un excellent produit qui convient parfaitement à mes besoins: lire des livres gratuits téléchargeables sur Internet, ne pas être prisonnier d'un écosystème (Amazon, Fnac, etc.), disposer des fonctionnalités habituelles sur une liseuse. Si vous cherchez la bibliothèque de 20 millions de titres qu'on peut lire les mains attachés dans le dos avec la carte bleue directement pompée par Jeff, vous trouverez assez facilement (!) ce qu'il vous faut sur ce site. Je préfère les bons vieux bouquins en papier plutôt que de vivre sous la dépendance du cloud. Sauf quand ils sont dans le domaine public, et il y en a pas mal !Ce produit correspond très bien à ces attentes. Les fonctionnalités de base sont assez maigres: l'app store du fabriquant est quasiment vide. Par contre, j'ai rapidement installé un appstore alternatif (good e-reader appstore) puis à partir de là une app de lecture qui fonctionne très bien, parmi des dizaines de possibilités. Je n'ai pas essayé d'installer le Google Play Store, mais tout le monde dit que ça ne marche pas (notez que c'est peut-être faux et que ça marche très bien. Je n'en sais rien), ce qui n'est pas un problème puisqu'il y a de nombreuses autres possibilités. Je n'ai pas non plus essayé d'acheter des livres en ligne avec la liseuse. Je dirais qu'a priori, ce n'est pas l'usage. Il y a bien sûr certaines limitations dues en particulier au noir et blanc d'une liseuse, mais c'est généralement paramétrable dans l'app que vous choisissez.J'avais une vieille liseuse Bookeen (parmi les premières) qui avait un fond très gris et était très lente et que j'ai fort peu utilisée à cause de ça. La liseuse InkBook n'a rien à voir et est parfaitement à jour par rapport aux concurrents propriétaires du moment (ok, les puristes trouveront certainement des petites différences, mais ce sont des puristes. Sous traitement anti-anxiogènes, ils trouveront cette tablette impec). L'écran, l'utilisation tactile, le rétro éclairage, la rapidité du rafraichissement: tout cela fonctionne très bien. Par contre, les boutons ne sont pas terribles au toucher.L'emballage était parfait (enfin, on s'en fout hein... ça part à la poubelle dans les 5mn quand même...). La mise à jour du système a pris quelques minutes à la première utilisation. Jusqu'à maintenant, le système n'a pas crashé. Le clavier virtuel ne pose pas de problème (nous sommes sous android, donc on fait ce qu'on veut).

Für jemanden, der sich mit Android einigermaßen auskennt, ist es ein interessantes Gerät. Meine Erwartungen erfüllt es mit einigen Abstrichen. Dafür gäbe es Punktabzug. Andererseits bietet es auch unerwartete Möglichkeiten, die den Punktabzug wieder ausgleichen.Das Display samt Beleuchtung sind ok, Die Bedienung mit einem kapazitiven Stift funktioniert gut. Mich persönlich stört, dass der Einschalter auf der Rückseite sitzt. Die Funktionen der vier seitlichen Tasten lassen sich nur theoretisch verändern. Zumindest für Excel-Tabellen bleiben die ursprünglichen Funktionen Seite-vor/zurück stets bestehen. Es ist mir ebenfalls nicht gelungen, per Bluetooth eine externe Tastatur zu verwenden. Das Gerät erkennt zwar die Tastatur, aber das Pairing bleibt erfolglos. Eine Verknüpfung mit einem Bluetooth Lautsprecher habe ich nicht ausprobiert.Obwohl Googls Play Store App fehlt, lassen sich fast beliebige Apps installieren, sofern man eine Quelle der entsprechenden.apk-Datei findet. Einfach per USB-Kabel vom PC hinein kopieren (interner Speicher oder SD-Karte). Dann im InkBookFileManager zur Installation anklicken. Ich habe z.B. auf diese Weise den File-Manager Amaze, den Firefox Browser und den PlanMaker Excel-Ersatz installiert. Wahrscheinlich lässt sich so auch die Google App einrichten. Zumindest kann man sich mit Firefox auf der normalen Google-Seite anmelden.Ich war auf der Suche nach einem elektronischen Kalender/Terminplaner, der an der Wand hängen kann und nur wenig Strom verbraucht. Diese Aufgabe erfüllt das inkBOOK, obwohl ich noch nicht die richtige Kalender-App gefunden habe. Bislang behelfe ich mich noch mit einer Excel-Tabelle, die über ein Jahr lang ist.Es läuft tatsächlich ein fast ausgewachsenes Android System 4.2.2 auf dem inkBOOK, das allerdings von Google etwas entfernt ist. Ärgerlich ist, dass die Kalenderspeicher-App fehlt. Sie ließe sich nur mit Root-Zugriff nachträglich einrichten. Deshalb lassen sich keine lokalen Android Standardkalender einrichten (z.B. aCalendar). Kalender, die nicht auf die (synchronisierbaren) Standardkalender zugreifen, funktionieren (z.B. Moniusoft).Ich benutze kein WLAN. Zu meinem Erstaunen funktioniert der Ethernet-Anschluss per Kabel mit einem älteren BobjGear USB-OTG-Adapter. Damit lassen sich dann auch Videos ansehen. Allerdings in der üblichen schlechten E-ink Bildqualität. Es ist mir nicht gelungen, einen USB-Stick an einem USB-OTG Kabel zu verwenden.

Da anni leggo molti ebook su cellualare&tablet usando Google Play Books, ho visto questo prodotto, accompagnato da numerose recensioni positive ed ho pensato che fosse il momento di passare ad una lettura su ebook, a detta di tutti più confortevole.E' sicuramente un bel prodotto, in linea con le recensioni, ma per chi come me è abituato alla flessibilità dei sistemi di lettura su Android, l'impossibilità di installare la piattaforma Google (Google Play Books in particolare, confermatomi dall'assistenza) rappresenta un bel limite (ecco perché tolgo una stella).Cercavo un sistema di lettura perfettamente integrabile con i dispositivi mobili tradizionali, ma pur montando Android sono giunto alla conclusione che un ebook reader va preso per quello che è, ovvero un supporto di lettura autonomo difficilmente sincronizzabile con i dispositivi mobili, e in fondo non che ciò debba per forza essere considerato un limite da tutti.Il dispositivo può comunque portare delle belle applicazioni di lettura android (FBReader o Prestigio ad esempio) che consentono di tenere la libreria aggiornata con cloud o altri dispositivi, ed è inoltre pienamente integrato con Kindle (preinstallata di fabbrica), ma l'assenza dei sistemi google un po' vanifica la grande potenzialità del sistema operativo android.

Pour commencer attention. Même si le descriptif ne dit pas le contraire, je trouve qu'il manque de clarté sur ce point : la liseuse a beau être Android, le Google store ne s'y trouve pas. Seul un pauvre store "maison" particulièrement vide tente de s'y substituer. Si vous comptiez y installer d'autres applications passez votre chemin. Côté résolution, vitesse de rafraîchissement et ghosting, c'est tout à fait utilisable mais pas ce qui se fait de mieux en ce moment sur des 6 pouces. Enfin, attention aux références faites à l'audio : c'est via Bluetooth seulement (pas de jack 3.5). Bref, certains points m'ont déçu car j'en attendais plus qu'une simple liseuse. Mais je suppose que pour un usage plus traditionnel elle convient tout à fait malgré un coût un peu élevé. Je me donne quelques jours pour décider de la garder ou de passer sur un autre modèle.
