Weber 80475 Gas Grill Q120 Q220 Replacement Electronic Igniter Kit

Even tho there are less expensive replacements available, believe this one is genuine Weber. Weber seems like out of stock, so ordered this one. At reduced rate from out of stock Weber. Did not come with a hard box, just in a plastic bag with necessary instructions. Was a good time to clean grille anyway. So did that before install. Installed this unit as instructed. Fits Weber Q320. You would think this was easy to answer, but it wasn't, reviewing several websites showed conflicting part numbers.Before buying anything, check the obvious: is the AAA cell still good (pull out button, replace cell with known good cell)? Are the wire connections still connected? Is the tip of the igniter piece in the grill free of big blobs of gunk? The wires to the igniter aren't somehow shorting together? If the obvious cheap fail points are not your problem, and you don't get that popping igniter noise, then it is time to buy a new igniter. (if the igniter is firing and you aren't lighting up the grill, there is some other problem to be solved... this isn't an exhaustive grill repair tutorial!)The number on the unit delivered was 1819-CPI 80475 RevG. The Rev numbers are usually engineering change related, so different Rev values will fit in a Q320-- the original I had was something like RevE. If the numbers are 1819-CPI 80475 it should fit if Weber uses engineering change like a normal company would.The main part is the black plastic box with a sheet metal shield screwed on, the components are potted in epoxy so the unit is not fixable. This potted component had failed on my Q320, so the other pieces were not needed and are kept around as spare parts.Removal: the directions are clear enough, but the thumbnail is-- remove button with battery (just pulls out)-- remove the cylindrical shell exposed/recessed in the hole remaining after pulling the button/battery out. This piece is held in faintly like a reverse bayonet; by twisting CCW and pulling, it will come out without much effort (clearly, yanking too hard will break the part, and that part is not part of the repair kit. It appears to be just a debris or water shield so does not appear critical to operation but may be important for long term battery life).-- remove the two wires going from the potted black box to the igniter tip. Note that the white plastic rectangular pieces are part of the box, not part of the wire... so pull on the wire just after the rectangular white plastic part (fortunately I was tossing the old potted component!)-- the potted box part where it connects to the grill proper has two tangs that should be pushed radially inward (towards where the battery would be in the center), but in reality I found that gently twisting and wiggling will get the potted box w/its metal shield out.-- push in the new potted box till it locks in place-- replace the cylindrical shell shield-- replace the button (or put in the new rubber button) and a good battery-- press button to verify operation, you should hear that familiar popping sound that was previously absent-- if not, replace more parts, check battery, etc.., there isn't much to the igniter

The parts for this grill were a perfect fit. Grill now works just as if it were brand new! We are so happy with this product, would definitely buy again and highly recommend!!

Got my RVQ back up and ignited as it should woohoo

I purchased this and about 5 other parts on Amazon to restore a Weber U1000(?) grill that we had owned for 10 years and had grown to love. We had purchased another table-top grill, but didn't like it as much. All of the parts fit perfectly and were easy to install. We gave the other grill away and now expect to use our Weber for another 10-15 years.
