Lights didn't work, got a refund
The led-lights didn't work, so we checked that at least something does and it is not our batteries and asked for refund. Free to send back and we got the refund quickly. The thing is made of cardboard paper, looked durable. It's a pity it didn't work.

Great kit
I had something very similar to this when I was young (40+ years ago now, eek!). Mine had various different circuit design cards which you placed on the base, inserted very similar looking spring connectors, and then connected up components in the required places. I think the design of this set where the various components are all mounted on the base and you then just wire in the ones you need is even better - I was always hunting around in the box for the particular resistor I needed.I bought this as a gift for my great nephew, I am now waiting to hear when he has got the radio working.I did take note of reviews elsewhere saying this is a bit flimsy, but at this price I think that's a good compromise. There's also nothing wrong with teaching children that they have to reign in their bull in a china shop mentality and be a bit careful sometimes!

A good starting point!!
Itβs a Christmas present for two 10yr olds, so hopefully it will get them started into a long life of electronics! And at least they wonβt be able to do too much damage with this kit, maybe disrupt a few radio signals for the neighbours, jamming radars and nuclear fusion will have to wait a while, but building radios and creating annoying alarms will hopefully be enough to drive their parents daft.

Wired up wrongly
I would have given 5 stars had the battery terminals been wired the correct way round.. Luckily I used to like to play with my brothers almost identical board 50 years ago and then my sons 28 years ago. One I figured it out my grandson loved it. His other Grandparents had also bought him a very expensive version, but he much preferred this one.

Great gift
My granddaughter loved this present, it is educational and as a nine year old she managed to read and follow the instructions to produce a working project safety and successfully with a great deal of satisfaction!

Loved it πππππ
Amazing learning tool. Within a day of my 8 year old opening the box, he'd learned how to make his own flat screen TV from a few food tins and an old beer bottle. Macgyver eat your heart out.Would recommend. And to the guy who down scored it due to it being 'flimsy', what exactly are you expecting? If used as a step ladder, ok granted its flimsy. As a stepping stone for future bomb disposal experts, its absolutely what id expect. If you have boys, they will love it.

Incorrectly wired
Fortunately I was present when the youngster who received it as a Christmas present attempted to make the first project (a simple LED light & switch). It did not work. A quick check with a meter revealed that the battery had been connected to the wrong terminals (polarity of battery reversed). Easily compensated if you are experienced, but it confused the youngster that he could not follow the diagrams for any of the projects but always had to swap the connections to the battery terminals. Very shoddy quality control!!! I have a feeling that one of the electrolytic capacitors was also reversed - if not then it was very leaky which made the bistable circuits unreliable.

Our 11yr old Grandson LOVED THIS!!!!
I TRIED SO HARD TO FIND SOMETHING A LITTLE DIFFERENT FOR MY 11YR OLD GRANDSON'S BIRTHDAY and this Electronic Playground was just right. He spent hours doing the projects and his Dad was impressed too!!! Would highly recommend for those boys and indeed girls who have an inquisitive brain and want to know how things work. Marvelous !!!
