A great headlamp so far
9 Month Update: The more I use this headlamp, the more I love it. It's ability to be aimed up or down is great. It also is easy on batteries, they last a long time and it tells you the battery's condition every time you light it. I'm glad I bought it.UPDATE: 1. I did figure out how to lock the headlamp. 2. Even the storage bag has a great design. It has an elastic cord to pull tight and seal the bag. To open, it has rubber tabs on each side to pull on. (See photo)I had a Black Diamond headlamp that died after 8 years and a battery that leaked. When I went to replace it with the same brand, the models had completely changed. I didn't like them so I went searching. I had seen a Petzl headlamp on a Nat Geo show so I decided to check them out. I decided on this model for a few reasons.1. It's a new model.2. The price was in my range.3. The number of lumens was in my range.4. It has two ways of powering. It has both pros & cons, but the pros outweigh the cons. The pros:1. It comes with a storage bag2. The strap is adjustable and stays how you adjusted it3. It has 3 levels of white light: from good to fantastic.4. It uses either 3 AAA batteries or the optional rechargeable battery pack.5. It feels well made, even though it's plastic6. You can point the light up, straight ahead & down while wearing it on your head. The cons:1. The instructions are difficult to understand until you figure them out. It looks like you have to push different buttons. However, I figured out how to change white levels, change back and forth from white to red light and turn on the red strobe. It's all done with the single button on the top. Just hold it down for varying times2. The battery door is difficult to open. I had to use a knife to pry it open and you have to open it to charge the battery. I don't advise using a knife.3. It has a lock so it won't turn on by accident. Unfortunately, I still haven't figured out how to lock it.Taking everything into consideration, I would definitely buy it again. I will update this review in 3 to 6 months with battery time and sturdiness.

Great for night time walking.
Been using the product for night time walks with my doggos.

Design needs work.
Rechargeable battery power should last longer. I have to keep plenty of AAA's on hand. The swivel mechanism is easily misaligned and a pain to straighten in a hurry. The 3 intensities of light are great!

Poor and frustrating design
The media could not be loaded. Opening and closing the battery door is beyond frustrating on this model (especially compared to the Petzl Actik Core, see video). Also: one of the plastic headband pieces fell off both Tikka models I have, so they don’t hold tension when I wear them and fall off. Poor design decisions. Get yourself an Actik Core instead.

Love the color, comfort of the band and lumens.
I thought I was going to break it just trying to remove the cover where the battery is housed. If I didn't need it for immediate use I would have returned it and bought the more expensive model that I have been using for years. It swivels, which I guess is helpful to someone but it's not important to me. And having to use a knife or something else to pry open the battery area is less than convenient and makes me feel like this won't have a long shelf life. I use headlamps almost every day for work and when outdoors and my petzl typically last years before needing to be replaced.

Not like they used to make 'em
This thing is garbage. I had a Petzl that lasted more than 10 years. it was SUCH a well designed, well thought out sturdy piece of equipment. This thing is garbage. I'll try a different brand.

Pay attention to the one you get
PAY ATTENTION to the headlamp you receive. While my Husband seems to like the one he has now (2nd ordered, yellow in color this time), the first one was not at all what he or I expected. Originally, I ordered him the green one shown in the color options. After receiving, we were disappointed to see the color was more of a dull seafoam green than it was the bright green pictured. The battery didn't seem to charge properly and there was no red light or night vision options like mentioned in the description. Worst thing about it all was the fact that hidden between the straps were the words "PETAND PENDING". Petzl has been around for quite some time now so really not sure why there would be a pending patent on anything, but the most concerning thing about it all was the spelling wasn't even correct. Strange is an understatement. Luckily, we were able to send the "knock off" back, decided to get another one in a different color (yellow) and it seems to be true to Petzl and their products. Based on the first order, I would give this product 0 stars if I could, but because the 2nd order seems to be legit, I gave it 3 stars so hopefully others will order on the side of caution

Bizarre
The product is well made, but poorly engineered for something with limited functions. Wanted just a headlamp with a couple of power levels, but even with limited functionality the manufacturer figured out how to make it somewhat confusing to use. It is not at all clear on the sequence of button pushing that is required to turn the red light on and off other than removing the battery pack.

Diverses options selon les contextes
Les 3 intensités de lumière blanche sont bien utiles... très forte ou moyennement forte pour les randonnées nocturnes ou tout en douceur pour la lecture avant le dodo Très satisfaite du produit. :)

Not convinced, doesn’t seem as robust as previous Petzl headlamps
It doesn’t seem as robust as other Petzl headlamps, the rubber “hinge” for the battery compartment feels like it will wear out pretty rapidly. It is very light and doesn’t seem as tough as my other Petzl headlamps. Time will tell, but just feels cheap.
