Really makes you think
This big definitely makes you take a new, positive perspective on your life, and your journey. The workbook combines writing, drawing among other creative venues to help you dig a bit deeper into who you are, and what you want. Some of the activities take longer than others, and really depends on how much effort and time you're willing to give. Several activities can be done in one day. The questions posed are fairly simple, but the way each activity is tied together makes them more complex as a whole. While I have not completed the workbook, I do enjoy the activites, and feel more intropective from what I have completed. The book is fairly thin, less than 1/2 inch thick. Very much like any other workbook you would have had in school. The paper inside is not noticibly thin, but markers and some pens do bleed through, but not enough to make the opposit pages unusable. While the author makes it known that your drawings, writings ect. don't have to be perfect, if you do not have a creative side, or do not enjoy doodling and writing, this probably isn't the book for you.

Buy this workbook and do it :)
I bought this workbook and began the exercises immediately. Funny thing... my very first thought was, "this book is too nice to actually use, so I will do the work on other paper so I can keep the book nice." Yep! Lesson #1.. right out of the gate :) I had clothes in the closet I wouldn't wear because they were too nice to use.. etc. and so forth. You get the idea. In addition, I was teaching at-risk youth at the time and used many of the exercises with my students. Cheri Huber is a gift to us all and I am grateful for her work in my life! Profound!

Cheap therapy! "do it yourself manual"
As a professional counselor, I have found this book both personally and professionally an incredible resource. Includes some great activities to help clients understand projection. . . and to bring unconscious/repressed themes to conscious awareness. Much cheaper than long-term therapy would be! Sometimes we just need the courage to ask the right questions. I will be using a large chunk of this material in an upcoming Self-Discovery Workshop I am offering to clients. Great material . . . great resource. I have also found Cheri Huber's books on depression and "Be the person you want to find" very useful. Clients have loved that book...and it's even been useful with some teenagers too. Highly recommend the workbook for mental health workers but also for anyone who wants to go deeper in understanding and excavating the self. 2 thumbs up and 5 stars!

Interesting.
This book has many good exercises for group therapy. Depending on how you view therapy and being honest with yourself, this book can help you realize things you need to change or make you want to throw it against the wall and burn it.There are somethings that I disagree with in the book because it's by a Zen teacher and I'm a Christian, but that does not mean it's not a good book. Like I said, there are plenty of exercises that are good for people to use to gain introspective knowledge about themselves. This book will give anyone or any group a hand in learning more about themselves or each other.

Use it all the time in my practice
I love using this book as handouts with my clients. I work with children in foster care, and many of these pages are fantastic tools to get to know them better, enhance engagement and increase self-awareness. My colleagues and I have lots of tools to engage younger children, but sometimes our teenagers are very difficult to get going with. Page 57, "Answer these quickly without 'thinking'" has never failed me and I love the unique, honest and thoughtful answers even my most resistant clients throw out at me. Some activities are pretty advanced, so you'll have to gauge what your client will be able to understand, but overall, this book has been a invaluable resource.

They are a great, easy
I work as a therapist at a high school and use this as activity worksheets for my sessions with my teens! They are a great, easy, interesting way to get adolescents to begin to look inward and find some insight. I recommend to any adolescent therapists out there!

An Insightful Self Help "Hands On" Workbook
This large (8 1/2 x 11")self help workbook takes you through writing and drawing exercises to assist in exploring your inner self. The handwritten (childlike?) font conveys an informal, relaxing, comfortable, feel to the book, without taking away from the professional strength. 163 pages of insightful questions and prompts that encourage you to express your feelings through writing and drawing.I also recommend books by SARK, a self help artist/author, known for her artistic and playful self help books. She has highlighted Cheri Huber in her earlier books. As an author and a Nurse, I highly recommend this informative self-help workbook for anyone wishing to explore their feelings.

Artistic Expression of Your Unique Identity
A good tool for self- expression and recognition of your personality, preferences and needs. Ideal for someone who likes to sketch, draw or express him/her self in art. Good form of "self-care" and expressing unique characteristics.
