Probably my favourite watch I've owned, despite the low price point. Very happy!
I bought this to replace a broken Mondaine watch, which I loved, but which was problematic. Do yourself a favour and search for images of this Timex Weekender 'Central Park' watch on a search engine, as the stock photos here really don't do it justice. The bezel here looks a bit too much like brushed steel. Maybe I'll take some photos and update this review when I can.The watch is simply beautiful. The clearest face, with little points at the tip of the hands that reach all the way to the minutes on the dial. This version also has a red second hand, which makes visibility even better. I love the 24 hour numbers on the inner part of the dial, and the indiglo night light feature is bright and has been very useful on a number of occasions. I'd never had a light on a watch before, and I'd read some reviews of this Timex feature as 'gimmicky'. Not so.The glass is very good and I've been wearing it for six weeks and not a scratch to either glass or metal. The strap started to show signs of needing a wash. You could probably just put it in with your clothes, but I decided to just scrub it with some hand soap and a toothbrush (not the one I use for my teeth, I should add!). It came up as good as new, with the white as it was when I bought it. Great. The only downside to the watch is an unusual trick with setting the time. The long and pointed hands make it beautifully easy to hit the minute when setting, and there is little to no movement in the hands when the crown is pushed in (a problem I've encountered with far more expensive watches). However, it took me some time to realise why the watch was not keeping time even though I'd set it bang on the minute. The reason is because it takes around 19 seconds for the minute hand to start moving once the crown is pushed in. It's a little bizarre, but once I figured this out, and allowed for those 19 seconds to run around, the watch has kept excellent time. In six weeks of use, it's lost 13 seconds. That's around two seconds a week, which is pretty astonishing. My dad liked my watch so much, I bought him the other version of the Central Park edition (the mainly blue with red stripes). Similarly, it had the same issue as mine, with the minute hand not moving for between 10-20 seconds after pressing the crown in. I suspect they may all be like this. It's just a case of watching closely how long it takes to start moving, and then adjusting the time accordingly. That one niggle out of the way, and I'm absolutely delighted with the watch. It's so comfortable. Yes, the tick is audible, but not intrusive and I don't notice it unless I'm prompted to. I also love the ability to customise the watch however I like, with a vast array of different coloured straps available cheaply from places like ebay. However, none of those straps I've bought have been as soft and comfortable as the one this watch comes with.

Quality, presentable, comfortable and an excellent time keeper
I had this watch as a Christmas present from my parents in the 70's and wore it for years before the strap frayed, we tried getting a replacement but being before the days of the Internet local shops couldn't supply and the watch itself was eventually lost over time. I am so happy with this watch, it's exactly the same as my original and this time I can buy replacement straps from amazon, although the one provided should last a long time as I not likely to be climbing trees or scrambling over walls scrumping now.Timex is a reliable make and their watches keep excellent time. The watch is just quality. You can see the quality of the case and the the face is so presentable and clear. The indiglow light provides clear night viewing of the whole face. The strap is so comfortable and easily adjustable with chrome buckle and loop.

Great inexpensive watch, with 2 drawbacks
I have now owned and used this watch for 3 years and 5 months, so a good point to write a review (and why I have now just ordered a new, different watch). Firstly, the good stuff: very reliable, never had any problems - comfortable on the wrist, easily replaceable strap. On the negative side, already mentioned by others: noisy tick tick especially at night. I don't mind, but my partner has me put it inside a drawer, so I can't check the time if I need to at night. Not a huge deal if it doesn't bother you. The bigger drawback for me is that the crown (you pull it out to set the time) comes out without me noticing when it gets snagged in an item of clothing, jacket sleeve - back pack strap and so on. I then don't notice straight away and of course the time has stopped. So by the time I notice, I might have missed an appointment or a train as a result, plus I need to check another timepiece or my mobile to get the correct time so as to reset it. Oh, by the way it does not have a date display - which is slightly inconvenient at times. If you can live with all of the above, a good quality inexpensive watch. I shall no doubt keep mine as a backup for my new one.

Well made, simple but stylish
A well made, stylish watch. I bought mine to simplify my life a bit - I had a smart watch, but found that it constantly needed charging, was intrusive and not actually as helpful as it might first appear - most of the stuff I actually need and use is on my phone anyway, so found myself using the smartwatch features infrequently - I find that they are not great as watches as they can be difficult to view. This Timex is easy and quick to read (no contorting arms to activate a screen) - the backlight is great at night. It feels really nicely made and the strap is comfortable. Timekeeping is accurate and it's way more attractive on the wrist than a smartwatch. I can fully recommend this watch and it's worth paying the extra for the genuine Timex Weekender than the cheap Chinese copies you see around.

Very happy
How can you grumble for £32. Nice basic watch, fits well on my 7" wrist, albeit maybe not the choice for those that like a big dial face (I think there is a 40mm variant too). Nato trap comfortable and easily removable if you fancy changing it. Indigo night light is superb on the dark too.
