Great little Switch - Highly Recommended
Does exactly what you would expect from an unmanaged switch. I use it to route some Cat 5 to support BT UHD services. This apparently can be very sensitive to anything other that a direct connection. However, it works perfectly. All the ports are full now....Sky TV, AV Amplifier, UHD Blue Ray player etc. It handles everything without fuss. I have used a lot of Netgear stuff over the years and found it pretty reliable. To be honest now my only regret is I didn't get one with more ports. Cant blame the product though for my lack of planning.

Instant improvement in speed between PC and NAS
A great value upgrade for my TP-Link 10/100 switch. This Gigabit switch resulted in a significant improvement in file transfer speeds between my MyBookLive NAS and my desktop PC. Instead of 2MB/s I'm getting around 20MB/s. Brilliant value and sturdy little box. Lets hope it continues to perform this well. Much better performance on the home network than when plugging devices directly into the router provided by TalkTalk. Simply connect this to the TalkTalk router to and everything else into this box. Quick and easy.

Great network port
Great piece of kit, thought I needed something like this for making myself a home network, checked with the tech guy at my brothers work, he gave the thumbs up.Itโs not that easy to know what you need if youโre not a tech wiz, but take it from me this works and is as easy as plugging in a few wires

Quality switch at great price
I'm reviewing the NETGEAR GS305-100UKS 5-Port Gigabit Metal Ethernet Desktop/Wallmount Switch. The SwitchThis switch feels quality, well weighted and solid. It's wall mountable and comes with a 3 pin plug which has a connector that fits into the switch. I've only ever brought Netgear and already have a 8 and a 5 port switches. Plug a cat 5 or 6 cable from the router into this switch which leaves you with 4 free ports for other devices. It's dimensions are 102x94x26 mm in size, so very small and comes with a 3 year warranty, which the first 90 days are 24/7 support with Netgear. It's bandwidth is 10 Gbps. Forward rate is 1000 Mbps. It has auto-MDI/MDIX which eliminates the need for crossover cables. It's also offers power saving features and the fan I can't hear so it's very quietA great product that does the job I need of expanding my wired network.

Works straight out of the box
Having kids in a modern house is challenging enough, but trying to make sure the internet works reliably across computers, TV's Mobiles playstations and streaming of music and Netflix is tough as there is never enough bandwidth when everybody is in the house all doing their own thing. Having decided on a new approach I bit the bullet and cabled up my house so that fixed computers, sky boxes, smart TV's and playstations were taken off wifi and moved to ethernet - hence the need to acquire this switch. With my wiring in place this little box was introduced to to take the internet from my main SkyQ box and distribute it - and wow what a difference this box makes. No more moaning about wifi issues, buffering or slow download speeds. This switch manages everything with ease and my life has improved now the moaning has stopped - it may have taken a while to get the cables in place but worth it. The switch runs cool which is a good sign even with the kids taking as much data as they can. Setup was easy as i just had to plug in the cables and wait for the IP addresses to settle down as the main sky-q box set up the connections.

Can't knock these wee switches
I have an 8 and 24 port version of this switch as well as this 5 port one to distribute Gigabit wired ethernet around my house.Great robust reliable bits of kit, for home network wouldn't buy anything else. Since installing the network, over a year ago now I have not needed to reset any of the switches due to problems. I have my main broadband connection come to my router, this feeds one port out to the 8 port switch, which uplinks via an external CAT6 to the 24 port in my loft, and from where I run cable drops all over the house. I take various feeds directly fromt he 8 port switch as it is in my office where the majority of my day to day kit in use is located. All the other feeds are used more intermittently except the drops to my understair cupboard which feeds my Smart TV and various other connected devices like Satellite Box, Now TV, Smart Blueray player and BT TV Box. I wanted to stick a Hive Home Hub under the stairs but only had 4 connections there, all in use, so poping the 5 port switchthere gave me some extra capacity with no loss of performance.

An Absolute Must
Ran an ethernet cable from the downstairs router all the way upstairs, plugged it into this switch, had one cable come out the switch to a PC in my room and another come out and into an Apple Airport Express set up as an access point... and it just worked, no faffing - simple plug and play, now I can get great wifi speeds at the far corners of the house and have an extra two ethernet ports upstairs spare for future upgrades. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED :)
