Excellent choice
I went with the ASUS ROG Strix B650E-E Gaming WiFi for my AM5 build, and honestly, I think it’s better than a lot of the more expensive “higher-end” boards out there. The build quality is excellent. Everything feels solid, well laid out, and premium without paying crazy flagship prices. Installation was smooth, and it paired perfectly with my Ryzen CPU right out of the box. BIOS is clean and easy to navigate, and tweaking settings wasn’t a headache. Plenty of connectivity too. Lots of USB, solid PCIe support, built-in WiFi, basically everything most people actually need. Performance and stability have been rock solid. No weird issues, no random crashes. For the price, this board punches above its weight. Definitely a great choice for an AM5 setup. Have not tried overclocking, but the VRMs on the board should easlity support it whilst staying cool.

RYZEN 9 ready! Very good board.
This came with a BIOS already installed that can support the Ryzen 9 series CPUs. Nevertheless I gave it a BIOS update before installing the OS and it now works very nicely with my Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 32GB of 6000mhz DDR5. I would suggest updating the BIOS before installing the OS. It’s very straight forward to do. Steps are on the ASUS website. You’ll just need a memory stick. The board supports Windows 10. The WiFi works perfectly and has Bluetooth as well so I can connect my controllers. Everything works fine. It’s a very good budget-conscious board. No issues. Nice look.

Has everything you'd need for gaming at a decent price
The ASUS ROG STRIX B850-E GAMING WIFI motherboard has been a fantastic upgrade for my pc. It was purchased along with a 9800x3d CPU, Arctic liquid freezer 3 AIO and 64gb of ddr5 ram. The motherboard has all the latest features, solid build quality, five M.2 slots and plenty of fast usb ports. It also looks really good with the retro styling and has some chunky heatsinks for cooling. It has some really handy features like the screwless M.2 locking mechanisms and the buttonless release mechanism for the PCIe slots. I have heard that the Q-Release Slim slots were causing damage to GPU's but I've had my old card out a few times and it's not got a scratch on it. I doubt for most people who rarely remove the GPU from the motherboard will have any issues with that but I do believe Asus have released a newer version that eliminates this. The only other thing that I've encountered with this board is that if you use M.2 slot two and/or three, it reduces the main PCIe gen 5 lane down to a x8 instead of a x16, and if you use M.2 slot four then the second PCIe slot is completely disabled. I have read into this and it's not really a huge issue as a x8 gen 5 lane is as fast as a x16 gen 4 lane, and i certainly havent noticed any differences but it's still not going to utilise the full bandwidth in the future when most new GPU's are gen 5. I've managed to work around this by moving my second M.2 ssd into slot five as I believe this doesn't affect any other Pcie slot. I would recommend going for larger M.2 drives if that's the storage to be used, or sacrificing the second Pcie lane by using slot four which gives you three M.2 slots while keeping the full x16 gen 5 slot for your gpu if it supports that. I'd say for the money you're getting a lot with this board and It shouldn't need replacing for a long time. The Asus Rog stuff never disappoints me.

Fantastic Motherboard for a Ryzen 5 Build
Review: I’ve just upgraded my PC with the ASUS ROG Strix B650-A, and it’s been an amazing experience so far. This is my first time building with a Ryzen 5 processor, and this motherboard has made everything incredibly smooth. First Impressions: When I unboxed it, I was immediately impressed by the sleek design. The silver accents and the RGB lighting really make it stand out—it looks amazing in my case! It feels solid and well-made, which gave me confidence right from the start. Setup Experience: As someone who doesn’t have massive storage needs, the three M.2 slots are more than enough for me. Installing the components was straightforward, and the BIOS is super easy to navigate, even for someone who’s not a hardcore PC builder. It didn’t take long before my system was up and running. Performance: Paired with my Ryzen 5 processor, this board handles everything I throw at it without breaking a sweat. From gaming to casual multitasking, it’s fast, responsive, and reliable. I’m not a storage-heavy user, but I love the speed of my NVMe drive on this board—it’s made a noticeable difference in load times for games. Connectivity: The WiFi 6E is a fantastic addition. My online gaming sessions have been smooth with no lag, and the dual USB-C ports make connecting devices effortless. The PCIe 5.0 slot is a nice bonus for future upgrades as well. Final Thoughts: This motherboard is perfect for someone like me who’s building a solid mid-range gaming PC without going overboard. It’s easy to work with, looks great, and has all the features I need. Highly recommend it to anyone looking to build or upgrade a Ryzen system!

Well balanced and feature-rich ASUS AM5 motherboard
I have nothing bad to say about my experience using the ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI for the past 5 months. It has worked flawlessly and coming for an ITX motherboard by a different brand previously, I have been impressed with this board’s features: 3 M.2 drives 12 rear USB ports, including 2 USB C The BIOS is slick and intuitive when I wanted to: • tweak RAM EXPO timings • undervolt my CPU • use BIOS flashback feature • turn off the motherboard RGB after finding the lights distracting I use wifi, which has been both fast and reliable Quality of life features like M.2 Q-latch, PCIE slot Q-release and DIMM slots for the RAM that only latch on one side, something I have not seen on any other board. If I had to complain about one thing, it would be the ASUS Armoury Crate software rather than the motherboard. It feels bloated and slow, BUT once you’ve used it for any software drivers and firmware updates, I was able to uninstall Armoury Crate with no issues. I’m pleased with my purchase and from my experience so far, this board has all the features that I’d want so I’d be happy to recommend.

WHAT A NIGHTMARE!
In 25 years of PC building this is both the most expensive and the WORST motherboard I've ever had. The RAM slots are so badly designed that you have to brute force your very expensive DDR5 RAM into the slots sideways (because the slots only have a latch at one end) and even then the sticks don't connect properly so you have to repeatedly take them out a put them back in again and hope they work. However, the 3.2 USB ports are the real nightmare. About half the USB drives I tried simply don't work properly in the 3.2 USB ports on the back of the case, the speed hovers around default HDD speeds of 50 MB/s before dropping to 0 b/s then eventually Windows reports that "the specified device can't be found". These are drives that work fine on my other 5 PCs. Also, having one of these drives connected can even prevent the PC from booting up. even when USB is NOT the primary boot device specified! I recently bought a Netac Portable SSD 2TB External Solid State Drive 2TB, USB 3.2 Gen 2, 10Gbps and that won't work in the USB 3.2 (same symptoms as above) however it works fine in the USB 3.0 port on my PC case which I wired to the motherboard internally. I recently "bricked" my PC trying to update the USB drivers to AMD drivers in an attempt to solve this problem but that just disabled all USB ports and since there's no ps/2 connector for a mouse or keyboard that does effectively "brick" your PC because you have no way of communicating with it! Fortunately I was able to use System Restore to get back to my original state of the USB 3.2 ports not working properly...
