My child's new favorite book!
This book has captivated my child's attention since the moment he laid his eyes on it. Each page is full of vibrant colors and cute characters which help bring the story alive. One of our favorite pages is the one with the T.Rex roaring!Just like Emma, my child was not a big fan of dinosaurs because he found them a bit scary. However, I think this book did its magic because after finishing the book, he proclaimed he wanted to check out the fossils at the museum one more time!As a parent, I love how the book teaches young readers to never be afraid to try something new. As it's very common in little kids, there comes an age where they tend to go with what they're most familiar with and reject the idea of new things...at least in the beginning. This book has enabled us to have this conversation whenever we are faced with new challenges and for that I am extremely grateful. The extra pages on paleontology vocabulary and Mary Anning were definitely a nice touch too.Nothing tells you better if it's a good book or not than the little one this book is meant for.My child read this book 3 times back to back in one afternoon.

Delightful, Informative & Colorful Dinosaur book
This book has several important messages for children (and the adults who read it). The first message is about learning to overcome fear of something by learning more about what you are afraid of. The second is that learning can be fun even if you are out of your "comfort zone" and may get a bit dirty when the learning is "hands on". Third, science is awesome. Fourth--both men and women can be scientists. One woman Paleontologist is highlighted in this book The facts about dinosaurs which are included in this book are interesting for all dinosaur lovers and those who want to know more. Many of the words are fairly simple. The illustrations make even more words fun to read. Reading this book makes me want to purchase the first book about a Robot Engineer.

Colorful, lesson packed, great read book
My students just love Emma Ren books. As we read this we were able to dive deep into the many great vocabulary words and use the context clues to help us figure out their meaning. You have many great little lessons you can include on SEL from the way Emma feels, to how her friend helps her get over her fear in a kind way to perseverance. The illustrations are bright and beautiful. Kids can see themselves represented in the book. The story is one the students can relate to. Such a great addition to my classroom library.

Fun pictures and a chance to learn about the study of dinos
I have the first book in the Emma Ren series and was excited to get this one. Illustrator George Sweetland has a wonderfully stylized art style that plays well with this genre. Jenny Lu's writing is both entertaining and informative. My young reader wanted to know more about Owl pellets and paleontologists after we read the book. The added vocabulary and brief bio of a professional in the field was a bonus. Definitely worth the look.

Great STEM, dinosaur, Paleontology read for kids!
The Emma Ren STEM Series is written by Jenny Lu and illustrated by George Sweetland. As a Kindergarten teacher, an Early Language and Literacy Coordinator, and a reading specialist, Jenny Lu wants to foster an interest in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) in young readers, especially girls. Women are underrepresented in STEM careers. Books that show women and girls in STEM fields can help change that by inspiring readers. In Emma Ren: Junior Paleontologist, Emma’s class takes a field trip to the Natural History Museum. Everyone else is excited, but Emma isn’t so sure. She’s scared of dinosaurs. The students meet Ms. Anning, a female Paleontologist, who gives the children a fossil project. Emma doesn’t want to participate, until her fellow classmate, Jake, encourages her and shows her how interesting Paleontology can be. Because of Jake’s passion for the subject, Emma is able to overcome her own fears and leave her comfort zone. The last pages in the book cover Paleontology Vocabulary and Mary Anning, a pioneer in the field of Paleontology. The nod to Mary Anning in the book was a great inclusion to give readers a real life role model.

Nice way to incorporate STEM into a story.
Very interesting way to mix and match STEM with a story for kids. Illustrations are great and very original. Would love to see more of Emma Ren adventures (maybe animations?). Emma Ren has lots of smart and STEM potential to grow.
