Outstanding, especially for the price
This brush was bought to replace the one on my shaving stand that had begun to rot. I needed one with a chrome (or chrome effect handle) to replace the old brush. It's not as soft as the badger-hair brush it replaces, and the plastic chrome-effect handle makes it lighter to hold, but doesn't look obviously cheap or nasty. The first couple of times I used it, it had a slightly... well... boar-like aroma, but believe me, it's not strong and it's not particularly offensive. It smells like most men used to prior to about 1990. It's lost the ... erm... "new brush" aroma after a few uses. The brush is well-packed and very large. It is a really good shaving brush. The bristles are a bit firm, being boar, but it's still effective and comfortable to use. The handle is too large to fit in most shaving stands, so be warned... but it's an excellent brush. Especially given that it's also one of the cheapest. What I find really amazing is that my old brush and my travel brushes always used to lose the odd bristle every other use... This brush has yet to lose one. It's a really well made brush and excellent value.

Professional Look
I like the very high quality bristle that doesn't seem to fall out or lose some of the bristle every time you shave. The handle looks like the genuine old style barber's shaving brush. Very good to work up a lather of shaving cream on the face for a smooth shave, and the handle is very easy to hold and to carry out the brushing.

Good enough is good enough
Decent enough brush at a reasonable price. However, it shed bristles from the very first use.

Paired with Proraso Green & an Alum Block
The finishing piece of the jigsaw for a perfect shave.Bristles feel soft against the skin but offer a firm base to lather up and apply generously to the face . I always finish with an Alum Block that I leave on the skin , when it dries my coup de grace is Proraso Green ' skin tonic' aftershave lotion.I treated myself to a ' double ' shave and enjoyed the experience immensely .I do have to say that anyone who thought this brush would be metal at the price they are asking for got off their bus a couple of stops shy!Proraso please keep up the good work!

Proper shaving brush
This is a really big shaving brush and does the job well. Look's great on the shaving stand.

Great Value Boar Brush
The media could not be loaded. If you’re new to wet shaving, I’d highly recommend picking up a boar or a decent synthetic brush. This boar brush is good quality, (after breaking it in, there are videos online on how to do this) it is nice to use and is very exfoliating, works great with hard soaps. It hasn’t lost any bristles yet, the knot seems dense and backbone is great. If you want super soft bristles and don’t like a scratchy bristles, go for badger or synthetic, personally I like all types of brushes, they aren’t necessarily better than one another, just different but YMMV.

Disappointingly cheap feel 5/10
I LOVE proraso products they are value items but always quality . This shave brush was cheap £9.50 with small discount ( normally £10 ish ) the pictures look great the reality though is the handle is chrome plastic ( think shower head ) with a very noticeable injection moulding seam running the entire length of the handle . Now in fairness the product is fine and does the job adequately . However it’s a shame the handle was not real chromed metal , even @£10 price point that is doable and still profitable for the brand .The brush itself is probably outsourced and made in China judging by the poorish made to a price quality . Buy it if you want an adequate but cheap shaving brush . if you want good quality that will look great in your bathroom for years to come buy something else . 5/10 for quality. 8/10. For functionality.if I had a brand like proraso I would not sully the brand with this cheaply made compromise of a product . You pays your money you make your choice .*edit*. Seems this product is actually made in ItalyIt appears , alas it’s still made to cheap Chinese standards , disappointingly so .
