Mora Companion Outdoor Rescue Knife available in Orange

Fantastic value for such a great practical knife. Not a premium knife but not a premium price either not a tactical commando knife with a fancy sheath or handle nevertheless it has a quality blade with a comfortable non slip grip and solid sheath. I use this for Bushcraft, find it safer than a folding blade for preparing wood and kindling for the fire. Note not a full tang so only suitable for light /soft wood batoning. Great knife for garden and greenhouse use. I have the stainless steel version, so no need to worry about rusting in our damp climate. I also chose the dayglow orange Survival model so hard to lose in the woods. Super-sharpe knife and holding its edge well. Top edge of blade rounded so I filed a flat section about 20 mm close to handle to use as fire steel striker. Tight fit with sheath so cannot fall out, has a belt clip but note cannot be carried in public areas, so lives in my rucksack and firmly in sheath until needed. Simply excellent value for money.

Very lightweight but seems sturdy enough. Comes delivered nice and sharp, so can be put to use straight away. Easily shaved my leg hair off, straight out the box. The rubber grip handle is excellent, non-slip and allows your thumb to get to the back of the blade for those tricky jobs. This knife is very easy to use. I wanted something lightweight and cheap that falls between the size of my Swiss Army Knife, and the 6 inch Fallkniven NL3 (my main go-to, do-anything knife), and this fits the bill perfectly. It will be used for food prep and the creation of tinder. The bright orange means it will never go missing - it really stands out. Plus the blade itself is very shiny and reflective, more so than any other knife I’ve seen. Could definitely be used as a signal mirror. Only slight downside is the sheath. Yes it holds the knife well and the knife clips in with a satisfactory click, but getting it out one handed is not easy. It’s also plastic and feels horribly cheap. Not worth dropping a star for this, because it is what it is, but I would prefer (and may purchase elsewhere) a better sheath. The knife itself, though, is excellent. Definitely recommend for the price.

Used this knife for 50+ camps with scouts and with my friends. Never failed me. I have never sharpened it. Although I know not to try stabing stone or metal so that could of helped. All round solid knife would recommend especially for the price.

Excellent knife, i've cut up so much stuff with it and only had to sharpen it once due to hitting a bit of concrete by mistake. The skandi grind is a doddle to sharpen, even for a novice like myself. The knife fits the hand well, it's got a nice grip. I had to grind the back of the knife as it's bevelled, so without this little modification you can't strike a ferro rod. Very good value for money, very sharp and can be made even sharper on a stone. I have a carbon Mora to, both are fantastic little knives. They aren't full tang but i've battoned with it a few times and it's held up well.

Loved this knife, super sharp and great for outdoor use. Doesn't like the sea air though. Used this for fishing and it started to rust.

Got it as a cheap beater so i dont have to use my better knives. Came razor sharp, and in true new knife fashion, i accidentally cut myself with it. Never had a new knife come so sharp straight from factory, passed shaving test with ease. Handle has that sort of soft rubberised coating/feeling which feels secure in the hand. The sheath is just plastic, but it's strong and sturdy, and required with a knife this sharp. The knife clicks in place in the sheath.

Blade is 104mm, length overall in the sheath is 233mm. Reasonable quality at a rock bottom price. Scandinavia made, Sandvik stainless blade. Nice grippy rubber handle, works when wet. Easy to sharpen. Good plastic sheath, with secure hold on knife which clicks in - retention is good. it all looks highly water / rust resistant, so it suits marine use.

Love it. Ultra sharp from the box. Basic sheath but it keeps the nasty bits covered. Originally bought for bushcraft but soon found a place in my sea fishing equipment where it has been exposed to sand, rocks and salt. Not to mention cutting up hundreds of baits such as hardback crabs. Still as sharp as the day I bought it - as in, don't touch the blade - and immersed in saltwater many times while wading or just on the beach as the tide comes in. A superb knife at a fantastic price.

Ich habe mir das Messer vor einem halben Jahr als Arbeitsmesser für Forst- und Landwirtschaft gekauft und genau dafür ist es ideal. AlsMesser ist es sehr leistungsstark und bei diesem Preis schmerzt es auch nicht allzu sehr, wenn man es verliert oder doch mal kaputt macht. Zu den Details: -Schärfe: Das Messer wurde rasiermesserscharf geliefert. Und das ist keine Metapher! Ich kann mir ohne Probleme mit dem Messer die Armhaare abrasieren wie mit meinem Gilette Fusion :D -Handhabung: Das Messer liegt überraschend gut und sicher in der Hand. Durch die Gummierung rutscht es auch bei Nässe nicht aus den Fingern. In der dazugehörigen Scheide sitzt es wirklich sehr fest, auch noch nach oftmaligem Herausziehen und Einstecken. Einziges Manko: Die Scheide kann man richtig herum nur rechts tragen, für mich als Linkshänder ein bisschen blöd :D Ein verstellbarer Clip hätte hier vielleicht auch etwas mehr Komfort ermöglicht. -Design: Designtechnisch ist das Messer natürlich nicht so der Hingucker. Mit dem relativ klobigen Griff und dem Kunststoff erinnert es mich eher an ein Küchenmesser. In dieser Beziehung habe ich für den Preis aber auch keine Anforderungen gestellt. Für ein vergleichbares Messer mit guter Optik würde man gut und gerne 50-60€ berappen. Ichhabe mir das Messer in Schwarz-Orange gekauft. Zum Einen war es die ansprechenste Farbe (passend zu meiner Forstkleidung), zum anderen verliert man es in dieser Farbe so schnell nicht. -Langlebigkeit: Das Messer wurde allgemein sehr gut verarbeitet. Es hat sich bis jetzt als sehr schnittfest bewiesen. Auch wenn ich damit schon ein bisschen Blödsinn getrieben habe (Äste spalten mittels Schlagwerkzeug, einrammen, einklemmen, etc.) hat es sich bisher nicht verbogen. Auch die Scheide hat bei mir schon ein bisschen was abbekommen, da ich sie im Forst auf Höhe des Oberschenkels trage, hat sich aber bisher noch nicht beschwert :D Das Messer lässt sich aufgrund der Materialien leicht reinigen und hat auch bisher trotz Witterungseinflüssen noch keinen Rost angesetzt. Geschärft habe ich es bisher noch nicht, weiß aber aus Erfahrungsmeldungen, dass das gut klappen soll. Fazit: Wer ein funktionelles Arbeitstier und einen Allrounder zum kleinsten Preis sucht, ohne allzu großen Wert auf Optik zu legen, ist mit diesem Mora bestens bedient. Ich bin Besitzer einiger Messer, aber das hier besitzt das absolut beste Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis!
