Can you fit extra blocks in the box? We have 800 now and I'd like to get them all in one container

Oddly the other answers to this question are incorrect. The size of a single block is 11.7 x 2.34 x .78 cm

That is 1.303 cubic inches per block. 1303 cubic inches for 1000. 0.75 cubic feet.

The box inner dimensions ( I just measured it as I have one ) are 14" x 14" x 14". That is 1.59 cubic feet.

Laying the blocks inside perfectly you can fit nearly double the amount of blocks.

To give a more accurate estimate, within the box you can lay a 3x3 pattern of 5 blocks per layer flat. That is 45 blocks per layer. The blocks are .307 inches thick. At 14 inches tall you can fit 45 layers. 45x45 = 2025.

You can fit 2000 blocks in one of these containers.

If you just throw 1000 blocks in and shuffle it a bunch, only 1000 fit.

How do these compare to the Keva pine blocks in terms of size and durability?

Thank you for asking.  KAPLA and KEVA blocks are identical in size.  KAPLA is made from Marine Pine via the South of France.  This pine will never warp or move.  It is very light weight.  Each of the KAPLA blocks are identical in weight as well.  The KEVA is made from maple and made in the United States.  KAPLA has been around since 1987.  We do know that customers have passed their blocks down to Grandchildren so they do stand the test of time. We hope this helps.  Please feel free to follow ups with questions. Can you do contraptions with these planks?
