I paid slightly more for this cable which arrived the next day, via Amazon Prime. It works

High quality, excellent cable that will stand the test of time. I would recommend this as a great replacement or additional cable.

The lead itself is as you would expect basic and works fine. The Tip !! If you own a Garmin 300 series Sat Nav you will find that it comes with the biggest cigarette car charger you can find. If like me you run a lot of USB devices in your car, you may have a multi USB car charge adaptor for your cigarette lighter. If you plug your Garmin into this via this plain extension lead it thinks it is connecting to a PC and goes into that mode. Quickly unplug it again and the milisecond it starts to reload plug back in and it fools the system and you are of and running in normal mode.

I can't really judge this item. I belive that my Garmin sat nav is too old for it to work. I dare say that, with the correct hardware, it's fine.

A USB cable is an essential for updating your satnav data. (Speed camera information for example)Like some other reviewers, I have experienced problems with this product. My first one didn't work. However, Decrescent sent me a no quibble repacement by return, and this works fine.At this price, and with this level of after sales service, bearing in mind that this product costs about 25% of the typical High Street price, it's a no brainer. Buy one along with your Garmin.

My original stopped allowing me to update the Garmin. Presume a wire broke but this replacement seems sturdy and has worked well over time.
