Flavour mix is just the luck of the draw
In case you're wondering, yes, we really did have too much time on our hands. We thought it would be fun to do a Jelly Belly taste test, so we ordered this 300g pack of 50 flavours mix to give them all a try.The descriptive text clearly states "This is going to give you so much happiness with 50 different flavours all in one pack!". 300g is 267 jelly beans, so with luck on your side you could expect to receive around 5 of each flavour. However, in small print on the back of the bag it does say that you are actually not guaranteed to get all 50 flavours in one bag, and when we counted up there were only 41 that we could visibly tell the difference between. Of those, some only had 1 or 2 of each flavour whereas a couple of them were in abundance.So our 50 flavour taste test wasn't exactly going to plan, but then the next issue is that there is no flavour chart supplied with the bag. If you can't tell what they are by tasting them (a lot just tasted generic fruity or citrusy) then you need to start hunting online for a clue as to what they are supposed to be. With some very subtle differences between colours that wasn't as easy as it sounds, especially since the chart attached to this listing appears to be of an American edition whilst the ones we received were clearly a different mix that seemed to match a different chart we found elsewhere.Overall, some of the flavours were very identifiable whereas others were more nondescript. It would have been nice to try all 50 but the missing ones will have to wait for another day.
