Honest and useful review, please read first
As always, I read some of the reviews before I bought this product and, to be honest, I don’t know why some people bother to write them, as they are just not helpful! My honest opinion is that this Aquarium Air Stone/light is value for money (I paid £7.99). However, at first only the light worked and not the bubbles.....BUT this was purely because my air pump was not powerful enough. I was keen to still use this air stone and not send it back, so I bought a new pump. It wasn’t cheap at £27, but definitely worth getting a decent one (it can even run two air stones if need be). The one I purchased was a 4.5 watt Aquamanta SP360 for those of you who would find this information useful (as I would have done). It was a bit of a faff trying to stick the 3 suction pads to the floor of the tank, but only because my tank is well established and was full of water and fish! Much to the annoyance of my fish no doubt I managed to clear an area and stick it down firmly. I would recommend burying the air stone completely in the gravel/sand and also covering the air stone with gravel/sand. If you find the light too bright, cover that as well. The bubbles easily come up through the gravel and so does the light, but a little dimmer if covered. All in all I am now pleased with this product and would recommend it, but make sure you have a decent air pump as mentioned above, as you will definitely be disappointed if not. It arrived the very next day and was nicely packaged and yes it was relatively easy to install and don’t forget you will need a ‘check valve’ installed in the tubing if your air pump is below the height of the tank, (it’s not included). This is a non-return valve to prevent the water flowing back down the tube to the electrics.4.5 stars given, but would have been 5 star if it was mentioned in the description of how powerful your air pump needs to be.

Lovely effect
Really lovely effect and nice compact size, perfect for my Marimo bowl. The colour change is so pretty and subtle and turns the bowl into a beautiful relaxing feature in the room. The bubbles are lovely, I bought a variable power pump so that I can change how bubbly it is.*Just be sure the pump you use has enough power to work it*The unit probably has a finite lifespan as the bulbs cannot be replaced and I'm not sure if the air stone is replacable as it's an odd shape, but I'm sure it can at least be cleaned to prolong it's life..but I hope it will last a fair while before needing to buy a new unit. You have the option of running the bubbles and lights separately which no doubt will increase the lifespan too.All in all, my marimos are very happy :)

It's ok if you get a bargain but if you need any item to be sent back there refund policy is a nightmare!Passed its 14 days so had to get Amazon to intervene to get the money backTwice I have bought faulty items and Amazon warehouse are terrible for money back. Please pay the extra....Amazon warehouse is a different department and.....Never again. You have been warned

Doesn't blow bubbles with a dual air pump
So bought this as the second bubble blower/light. We bought a dual air pump for this to be one of the outlets and the other would be just a normal air stone. This one doesn't blow bubble I don't know if it's because the air pump we have isn't strong enough or what .. but the light part is a nice addition to our colourful tank. When I do a full tank clean again I will have a go at just using this one as a bubble blower and connect both outlets to the one as I think this might be the reason it's not working. Who knows we will find out in a month or so. :)

Pretty but powerful airstone.
The air stone provides a pretty stream of bubbles, but I found it too noisy to use as an air stone I just use it as an extra light on the side of the tank, the lights change in a slow sequence and add to the tank, the fish seem to huddle around it.To use it, you need to use the suction cups on the glass bottom of the tank, the base is thin so the gravel looks out of place and shallow surrounding the base, I think if the base was thicker the gravel would sit perfectly around the base.I did try using the suction cups on the side of the tank but only half of the air stone gave out air bubbles, and the noise was too loud to bare, in my 110 ltr tank.A single air stone hardly makes any noise in comparison.

This small unit packs a real punch and the colours are fantastic.
I have had one of these air stones with lights and obviously it was really good, but I gave it to a friend who was setting a tank up for the first time. With that in mind I purchased this one.But WHO IN THERE RIGHT MINDS WOULD WRAP THE AIR LINE WITH A CABLE TIE.The aforementioned person not only tied it up with the cable tie seriously damaged the tubing thus rendering it USELESS.All of this tubing in this little cable tie. Madness.

Not bad for the price
Easy to set up in my tank. Colours look nice and the bubbles are small enough for a decent flow. 2 things I'd like to point out. 1) The lights are on a constant cycle. There's no control over the lights. You plug them in thats it. there's not even an off switch. 2) the timings of the sequence are different for all the LED's. When its starts, they are all in time giving you RGB, but within minutes, the timings are out and you end up with a blend (purple, green, mixed colours etc)

wont stay on the floor of a gravel tank
This is the price just for the stone with lights, you need to buy the air pump elsewhere.Needs 2 available plug sockets- one for this product which switches the lights on, and one for the air pump.Getting it to stay on the bottom of the tank is hard (I have gravel) which is unfortunate as that is the only position where the lights hit the bubbles, and the best uniform distribution of bubbles from the stone, otherwise while on a tilt the lights really dont do anything for the tank aesthetically (they shine in your eyes and blind you mostly) and the bubbles tend to come out of just one part of the stone. It has ended up being fixed to the back of the tank on the wall vertically, with the lights off, and isnt what I'd hoped
