BRITA Marella XL Water Filter Jug and Cartridge, Blue

Used this for a long time, it's very good. No leaks, holds plenty water and easy to clean. A tough product. Although I haven't done the drop test on it so I can't comment on that

I had never really thought I could be bothered to use a water filter,but I live in a hard water area and the thought of ingesting the limescale that constantly coated my kettle made me think it was worth a try.I purchased this filter jug nearly 2 monthe ago and am really pleased with it.It is easy to fill with a flip lid and holds a reasonable amount of water.It sits handily on my worktop ready to fill the kettle or saucepans(for vegetables).My water has never tasted better and I have resumed drinking it as a drink on its own.Also it is great to enjoy scum free tea and coffee.After nearly 2 months the kettle is showing very little sign of scale,which should save on descaler and go some way to offsetting the cost of the filter cartridges,one of which is included with the jug.Replacement filters cartridges are quite expensive,though it is possible to keep the price down by taking advantage of Amazon's bulk offers.In summary, I am using the filter jug every day.It is effective and very convenient to use.It is good value for money and I would highly recommend it.

Great product! Truly makes the water taste different but better! The current water at my house tastes like limescale that's why I decided to purchase this even though I live in a soft water area. Must be the piping system in my house.the jug is a nice large size and filters the right amount of water for me. I also found that hot beverages such as tea and coffee taste better when filtered.The jug is nicely designed and easy to pick up.My only concern is that when purchasing the product I found that my filter meter is at 75% when it was supposed to be at 100% I don't know whether I'm missing something or I used it wrong. I'm curious to see whether anyone else has this problem.I would definitely recommend this product to friends and family.

We've been using Brita filters for over 5 years and this is our second jug. The other one was still in good working order after 3 years, but we couldn't clean the water marks and limescale of it. The jug comes complete with one filter and last about a month of daily use.This jug has a capacity of 2.4 liters , but don't expect to get all this amount right away when you fill it from the tap. An empty jug will take a minute or two to get filled with filtered water. Most of the water will be filtered, about 1.4 liter, and the rest will take another couple of minutes to get filtered. The reason is that the jug has an inner container with 1 liter capacity where the filter is located. When you fill the jug with water, the inner container will be filled first, filtered and the out to the outer container. Any extra water filled, while the outer container is full, will stay on the inner one. Only when you pour the water from the jug, the outer container will get empty first and only then the water in the inner container will filtered out to the outer one. Hopefully it makes sense!Replacing the filters is easy and no mess involved. I always buy them in packs of four at Amazon. Water will taste funny though for the first days. In general, the taste is better than tap water but not as good as mineral water. The chlorine taste tap water is almost gone in Water from Brita filters but you'll have to get used to the taste. Coffee/tea tastes better (also clearer). I use it for cooking as well and it makes a difference.It is an easy and inexpensive solution to get filtered water, I'd recommend it.

The media could not be loaded.  After years of putting up with foul tasting water, kettles that didn't last for more than a year and tea / coffee with a scummy residue on top I decided it was time to purchase a water filter.This Brita Marella filter is easy to assemble straight out of the box. It has three main parts plus one filter cartridge. The cartridge needs to be submerged under water until there are no more air bubbles and then placed into the internal jug. This jug fits inside the main container where the water is filtered and stored. The lid fits snugly on top of the main container.Once the lid has been attached there is no need to remove it except for washing the jug or changing the filter. It fits snugly, perhaps a little too snugly as I have scratched my fingers a couple of times when trying to remove it. The lid feels flimsy, I'm not convinced it would stand up to a lot of wear and tear.A sensor is fitted into the lid. To activate it for the first time you need to remove the plastic and then hold the start button down for around 6-10 seconds until all four bars appear. The sensor doesn't measure actual usage, instead it seems to be time based knocking off one bar per week until all four bars have disappeared. The filter says that it lasts for 100 uses so it all depends on how heavy a user you are of the jug and cartridge. However, it does act as a handy reminder because I have never remembered to keep count of how many times I've used the jug.The jug is easy to clean in hot soapy water - it will go into the dishwasher but I've so far only washed mine by hand. There is a section underneath the lid and also under the base of the jug into which water gets trapped and it is difficult to get it out and dry the jug completely. I've ended up shaking mine a lot to get the last drips of water out.Overall, it has made a huge difference to the taste of my water and the look of my tea and coffee - I no longer had a scummy residue on the top of them. So as a result I'm very happy with my purchase.

Der Wasserfilter ist sehr gut verarbeitet und sieht sehr elegant und modern aus. Er ist von schönen und soliden glatten Kunststoff ausgeführt. Aufgrund seiner schlanken Form passt der Wasserfilter in die Kühlschranktür problemlos, sowie er spitz auf der Theke sitzt und nicht viel Platz nimmt.Das gefilterte Wasser hat einen ausgezeichneten natürlichen,frischen Geschmack. Es ist kristallklar, wie von der Quelle. Schon nach dem ersten Schluck spürt man mit Leitungswasser einen spürbaren Unterschied. Tee, Kaffee und sogar Suppen schmecken viel leckerer und voll mit Aroma. Mit Brita-gefiltertem Wasser kann man auch genug Geld sparen, als es nicht mehr nötig ist Trinkwasser in Flaschen zu kaufen. Daumen hoch!

Ottima questa caraffa che permette il filtraggio dell'acqua del semplice rubinetto. Elimina i metalli le scorie ed il cloro presenti e da un buon gusto evitando di appesantirsi nella spesa portando cestelli di acqua pesanti. Soprattutto per chi come me non dispone di ascensore in casa. I filtri di ricambio durano circa 1 mese e sulla brocca c'è un segnalatore a barre che indica quando il filtro va sostituito. Spedizione veloce ed ottimo prodotto.

Caraffa di gradevole design e di ottima funzionalità.L'acqua filtrata ha un buon sapore e mi fa risparmiare i soldi e la fatica di trasportare le bottiglie in plastica..Ho comprato questa per sostituire la mia vecchia caraffa,sempre Brita,che dopo anni di onorato servizio,si è rotta.Fa anche la sua figura in tavola,e colorata è veramente carina...anche se in realtà il blu è un più scuro di come lo si vede in foto!Consigliata!

Belle carafe de grande capacité. Filtrage raisonnablement rapide. Les cartouches se trouvent aisément en supermarché. Par rapport à un produit concurrent, il faut changer le filtre tous les mois (et non tous les soixante jours).
