Saving me money!
it is an oddity that Nespresso make it so difficult to buy their pods. Original Nespresso pods are the best, no question, but unless you have a poncy boutique nearby you have to order online; not convenient if you work and cannot take deliveries. I've tried all the so called compatibles (Cafe Direct, Carte Noir, Dulait etc) but they all use poor quality coffee. So I sceptically ordered these Xavax refillables to try. I followed the instructions and used my favourite Taylor's ready ground espresso. The result was fantastic, never again will I be without my pods as I just refill and go. I tend to used two pods for a Cappuccino which gives the correct strength for me or a single pod for a short espresso. Cleaning the pods are a doddle, just rinse under the tap after use and you're good to go again. One tip is to ensure that the closing 'tab' is facing up and centre when you load the pod in; makes it easier to eject the pod after use. I love them and they have proved to be a worthwhile purchase. I'll continue to use these until the day that Nespresso see sense and start selling their pods on the High Street.

Podtastic
These work surprisingly well. If you tamper the coffee down too much then not much coffee comes through. I fill to the top, shake a little then push the lid down. Then a very quick splash from the tap to stop stray grounds going directly into the mug. I used Costa coffee espresso coffee and it was as good as a costa coffee in a costa restaurant. I'll try some other coffees at some point. No issues with using with my Lattisima machine. I use two pods for a large mug of latte. Easy to knock out used coffee into the compost bin. Easy to wash - no need for dishwasher so not used that. I used it on holiday last week with several coffee drinkers so possibly 40 uses max per pod and no damage so far. It would be easy to throw out if you forget they are re-useable....so my guess is I will lose them before they wear out. I worked out significant savings after 30 uses bearing in mind I use two of these to replace one Nespresso pod. It's also easier to buy ground coffee for me than to mail order Nespresso pods or visit a nestle boutique as the nearest boutique is not close enough to ever go to.

... - looking at other reviews it seems they work fine on some machines but not all
sorry to say there don't wok on my krups xn260 Nespresso Machine - the machine just rejects the pod or spills out too much into drip tray - they only way to get them to work for me is if i only half fill them and don't tamp down the coffee - meaning no strength or creme -looking at other reviews it seems they work fine on some machines but not all. -seems theres no cheap way to run the machine and the legit pods are more expensive for a reason...they work perfectly.

Not bad
Great idea - probably slightly overpriced for what they actually are (brown plastic) which loses a star. On top of that you'll need to buy finely ground espresso coffee (or, of course grind your own) to get the most out of this. After some faffing around (which loses another star) you'll end up with some decent coffee from these things (too loose or too tightly packed and you'll get virtually no coffee from the pod) and, once you're used to them they will save you money in the long run while allowing the use of your own blends.

it's just as good as the actual Nespresso capsules
These work very well for me. In a way, they run counter to the whole idea of Nespresso, since its attraction is that you don't have to spend any time tamping down coffee into a container. But it's much easier to fill these capsules than for a traditional espresso machine - you just spoon it in. I didn't find you need to pack it down tight - the design of these capsules does this for you, I find.As for the quality of the coffee, it's just as good as the actual Nespresso capsules, I find. That said, I don't think that Nespresso capsules make particularly good coffee, but they are hugely convenient. And I've found that this convenience is what you need at home. If I feel I have to have a perfect espresso, I'm happy to pay for it in a cafe with a proper machine.

Great idea, bad taste
Maybe I just haven’t found the right coffee blend to use yet, but everything I’ve tried in these just comes out watery and flavorless. I’ve even bought the most intense espresso beans to grind at home, even those don’t work, so unfortunately these are not a good replacement for the real capsules in my opinion.

Nespresso the old-fashioned way
One can refill ordinary plastic pods (but not official Nespresso aluminium capsules) using al-foil to close; but these refillable pods are more convenient, And my fresh ground Espresso beans taste better than anything I've found in pods. Grinding coffee and filling pods rather negates the Nespresso concept but as this is only a fill-in while my Rancilio is serviced, I have the grinder, the beans and am used to filing coffee holders. Taste is similar to the same beans in the Rancilio.

Requires a knack
This is great to help eliminate the high costs of Nespresso coffee capsules. These pods/ducks take a while to master to pack the coffee correctly so the water flows thru and so you get a decent cup of coffee. There is a Goldilocks knack to packing these, once mastered you'll get a good cup of coffee. I use two for each cup and only use the espresso setting. Worth getting, but be patient with 'em until you find a method that works for you and your machine.

Was will man mehr.
