Can you remove the pins on this brush for cleaning?

Bought this for my partner. Just had a look and the rubberised brush segment will pull out quite easily and slot back in on his. A few months ago I came across a tip for cleaning 'Tangle Teezer' brushes with plastic bristles that may well work on the Denman. Wet the brush, sprinkle liberally with bicarbonate of soda. Leave to work for 5-10 mins then rinse off. Will get rid of any grease, hair preparations etc. and makes my 'Tangle Teezer' look like new. Hope this helps.

how is it with very thick hair ?

Personally I think it's ideal for very thick hair. It's very well made. I purchased it after noticing most good Barber's used Denman brushes.
