Sea Dog

I bought this book for my kids last summer and it became an instant favorite! We love Walter and his fantastical story so much! The illustrations are beautifully done and the story is imaginative, heartfelt, and exceptionally well written. Astrid Sheckles creates a world that you want to jump right in to and become a part of. I love it just as much as my kids do! Buy this book!

What could be better then a story about the ocean, boats and dogs? We absolutely love this book and will be buying them for gifts for our friends and family. A great story, fun to read and wonderful illustrations.

Absolutely fantastic illustrations. Wonderful seafaring story as well. Highly recommend for reading to 3-8 year olds!

I bought this book as a fun read. However, as I read through the story, my mind began thinking about the many ways that I can use it in the classroom! First of all, my students love dogs! The merpups in the story are cleverly drawn to represent several varieties of breeds. This already will capture my kiddos attention.I plan on using this text for several of my students' goals such as sequencing, summary, and description. I am looking forward to this school year!

I ordered this book as a birthday gift for a nephew, and liked it so much that I ordered a second one for myself. The quality of the writing and artwork (so detailed and colorful!) are so wonderful. This book is peak “cozy vibes” and reminds me of my childhood in New England.5/5. Would highly recommend!
