A&A 21.25" Professional Wooden Tournament Chess Board/African Palisander & Maple Inlay / 2.25" Squares w/Notation

The chess set I had included large pieces. The base of the pieces was about 1.5" and they were cramped on smaller boards. This board is large and gives them plenty of room, and is a beautiful piece that can sit out and fits right in with our living room furniture.

Chess board met my expectations.

UPDATE:Board was returned eight days after purchase. I noticed the board ends peeling from either taking it out of the storage bag or from use. Again... this was only eight days. I originally gave this five stars.______________________________________________________________________________________________I am very satisfied with this Chess Board. It came undamaged and it was packed well. It came with a carry case. While close to tournament size, I doubt that you would use it as a travel chess set (to heavy). It has notation on the board; however, the shipping container clearly states no notation. I will proudly use this board to display my Zagreb '59 3.9" wood chess pieces (displayed and not included) or my Dubrovnik Imitation set. The spaces are approximately 2" and the board is marked at 18.875" by 18.875". My cost was less than $70, but I've seemed it advertised at over $100 elsewhere. It is made of wood, but it is not very thick wood (maybe .5"). I would recommend this board as a gift, for use, or display. I hope the pictures do it justice and answers your questions similar to those I had.

I invited my friends to play chess on this board, they commented that it was like playing in a real chess championship event. The board is like a chess battlefield, I can't wait to play, win or lose, it's still fun!

Such a nice looking board. Feels sturdy, and comes with a nice carrying case. I don't know how or why you would spend more money than this on a board. Perfection!

Well presented product however the chessboard was warped and not very well made. Seems that the focus is on presentation of the board for marketing purposes however the product itself leaves a lot to be desired

✎ Se siete degli amanti del gioco degli scacchi come me capirete sicuramente il motivo per cui ho deciso di provare questa scacchiera, appena arrivata si può da subito notare il suo bel peso, circa 4.4 kg.📦► Il prodotto arriva anche con una bella borsa per conservare la scacchiera, la custodia ha anche il manico per poterla portare a mano, come potete vedere dalla foto, risulta essere anche ben imbottita e questo da un'ulteriore protezione.► La scacchiera è realizzata completamente in legno e si nota da subito, sia per il peso ma anche per la sua lavorazione che dà all'occhio, il colore è mogano e acero intarsiato, il tutto la rende molto elegante e professionale e si può usare anche in un evento torneo di scacchi tranquillamente, non ho trovato nessun difetto nella lavorazione come invece mi è successo in un'altra scacchiera che ho testato ultimamente.► Nella base sono situati 4 feltrini per evitare che si muova durante uno spostamento brusco ma anche per evitare di rovinare il legno alla base a contatto con qualcosa, li ho trovati molto utili.► La dicitura: “senza notazione” indica che la scacchiera non ha né lettere né numeri e personalmente avrei preferito ci fossero, chi la compra comunque può scegliere tra 4 modelli e due di questi hanno la notazione.► Purtroppo per quanto il prodotto sia bello e viene comunque venduto alla cifra di €91 circa mentre scrivo questa recensione, sono rimasto un po' deluso di non aver trovato i pezzi per giocare, naturalmente si possono comprare a parte ma personalmente avrei aggiunto anche questi, pur facendo pagare qualcosina in più.

Pour ma part de l’échiquier professionnel dépend de deux points importants :• La taille des carrés sur un tableau• Les dimensions globales de la planchePour les tournois, la norme est d’avoir une grille de 8 par 8 constitue la base de l’échiquier.Il doit y avoir 64 cases de taille identique comprenant 32 cases foncées et 32 cases blanches.Les dimensions de l’échiquier doivent être identiques sur les quatre côtés.Bien que les normes de tournoi FIDE (Fédération Internationale des Echecs) pour les échiquiers puissent varier d’un pays à l’autre, il est peu probable qu’elles soient très différentes. La FIDE recommande que chaque carré utilisé pour le jeu en tournoi soit compris entre 5 et 6 cm. Donc la dimension de ce jeu d’échec convient parfaitement car chaque case mesure 5.7 cm.Quelle est la meilleure taille d’échiquier ?Dans l’idéale l’échiquier doit s’approcher de 53 cm de long par 53 cm de large et 2 cm d’épaisseur. La taille idéale des cases individuelles de l’échiquier est de 5 par 5cm. Ici nous avons un plateau de jeu de 54x54 cm autant vous dire que c’est idéal pour jouer en compétition.Ce plateau de jeu d’échiquier est incrusté d’acajou et d’érable sans repère.J’apprécie également de pouvoir le transporter grâce à sa housse cependant je note un point négatif.En effet comme vous pourrez le voir sur mes photos les lanières de cette housse ne sont pas de taille identique.Malgré ce petit problème de transport, cela reste un plateau de jeu de très bonne qualité qui respecte les normes recommandées par la Fédération Internationale des Echecs.
